I just fucking can't even theatlantic.com/politics/archi…
What the fuck are you all smoking

I mean, yes, what with the epidemic of white churches being burned and shot up

oh wait, sorry, that's mosques, synagogues and Black churches
White 👏 evangelicalism 👏 is 👏 intimately 👏 tied 👏 to👏 white 👏 supremacy 👏

The same people saying American Christians are persecuted as much or more than racial and religious minorities are the ones saying "white genocide" is a thing.
We've never had a non-Christian president.

(Spare me your No True Scotsman-ing about the Christianity of presidents you don't like.)
I just
The only way Islam in America is a "threat" to Christianity is in that American Muslims are opening a ton of free medical clinics and doing a better job of caring for the poor like Jesus instructed than most Christian organizations, and the contrast is increasingly obvious.
TFW you're so privileged that you think not being able to force your beliefs on other people, that merely having to allow them to live the way they want to, is the same as having their beliefs forced on you.
And that's really the sum of it: Christians apparently can't actually imagine a multicultural society. If they aren't allowed complete, hegemonic dominance, in their minds, they must be persecuted.
This is a blunt parallel to white people believing that if we take our boots of the necks of non-white people, they'll turn around and oppress us, or men believing that if they don't control women, we'll turn around and oppress them.
Privilege seems to make it impossible to imagine that anything but relationships of dominance and oppression--anything but zero-sum games between people--are possible. Or to put it in Martin Buber terms, when you've only engaged in I-It relationships, you can't imagine an I-Thou.
Really starting to believe that literally the best thing that could happen to Christianity--and the only way it'll ever get its soul back--is for it to actually BE a minority religion for at least five or six centuries. It wasn't even out of infancy when it got state power.
I mean, like, look, I knew that there were American Christians who believed they were persecuted, in America, for being Christian. I knew that was a thing. But HALF OF THE POPULATION? Seriously? HALF?
