The Brexit Party is not what people think it is. Some people think it is UKIP 2.0, others think it is going to be the start of some new political revolution. It isn't. It's not a party, its Nigel Farage's personal fan club. In this thread we will attempt to explain. 1. 
2. Having spoken to many former UKIP members and activists, they all say the same thing - Farage wants people around him who are three things [1] loyal to him [2] smart enough to be useful [3] not smart or rebellious enough to be a threat to him.
3. During his career many people had fallings out with Nigel, but a small group always stuck by him and impressed him with their combination of both loyalty and being precisely just clever enough to be useful but not enough to challenge him.
4. These people include Michael Heaver and Alexandra Phillips (both now prospective Brexit Party candidates) and Gawain Towler, former UKIP press man now doing PR for the brexit party.
5. According to the Guido Fakes website, Philips was getting paid £60,000 p.a. working for Ukip in 2014 order-order.com/2014/12/03/rev…
6. According to the Daily Mail, Ms Phillips salary had increased to £80000 p.a. before an incident allegedly took place that filled Mrs Farage with 'fury'. She then moved to Wales. Why Wales you might ask... google.com/amp/s/www.dail…
7. According to Wales online she then went working for Farage loyalist MEP Nathan Gill - who strangely enough is one of the only UKIP MEPs who will now be standing as a Brexit Party candidate... google.com/amp/s/www.wale…
8. This is the start of a pattern where Nigel bounces his loyalists around well paying jobs and opportunities. Look at Michael Heaver. Having failed to become an MEP in 2014, he was given the consolation prize of being given the role of Farage’s personal press advisor.

10. Heaver is now the number 2 candidate for the Brexit Party in the East of England region.
11. Press man Gawain Towler was rewarded with (according to the Guido Fawkes website) a generous taxpayer funded £80,000 salary paid for by the EFDD group - [if true, this would probably have been bending EU Parliament rules] order-order.com/2014/12/03/rev…
12. Mr Towler has apparently been rewarded by Mr Farage for his loyalty by being given a new job with the Brexit Party: prweek.com/article/158255…
13. And what of those who haven't got into Nigel's good graces? To answer that question we only have to look at one simple fact - of the 13 MEPs (not counting himself) Mr Farage has persuaded to join his Brexit Party only two are being allowed to stand as Brexit party candidates
14. Besides Mr Farage, only two former UKIP MEPs Mr Gill (see earlier this thread) and Mr Bullock have been allowed to stand again.
15. But how has Mr Farage got away with this behaviour? How has been able to reward or punish people freely? Simple. Unlike UKIP, Brexit Party isn't a real party in the traditional sense, as Gordon Brown explained, it's a company that Nigel controls: bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-pol…
16. The Brexit Party is simply a vehicle for NF to reward his friends and raise his own profile. He has no knowledge or ideas about Brexit and won't have the power to implement it even if re-elected. Thanks for reading. /End
