@IKEAHelpt @IKEAHelpt Hey guys! Since IKEA Anderlecht, where our problem was, doesn’t have Twitter, I’m directing this at you. So, here’s the thing. Me and my wife have loved IKEA ever since we were first there as little children with our parents. 1/x
We have always bought IKEA furniture for all our apartments. So, naturally, after moving to Belgium, we decided to buy a completely new set of things for our new place. When we talked to the clerk at the delivery counter (before buying anything), 2/x
he mentioned the “picking service” they offer for €19,90 and we were delighted. We don’t have a car in Belgium and the idea to have absolutely everything delivered on a different day was exactly what we needed. So we compiled a list and came back the next day 3/x
(another work day dedicated to this venture), even talked to a very friendly dutch manager who got us the last NORAKKER table, and went on to create the picking list with a clerk on the lower floor. She was also very friendly and helpful, although the information she had 4/x
given earlier about things being able to be sent three days later turned out to be incorrect, so we had to improvise. With great efforts, we were able to facilitate a delivery to our future apartment on the next day, where another person is still living (until June 1). 5/x
We told them it was on the third floor, they said no problem. We asked whether there was anything else we needed to manage, they said no, the things will simply be delivered tomorrow when we pay the list at the checkout. So we did. The truck with our stuff even arrived 6/x
the next day, but here comes the big BUT: THE DELIVERY GUYS SAID THAT WE NEEDED A PERMIT FROM THE CITY FOR THEM TO PARK AND UNLOAD THE STUFF!!! Even though there were free parking spots! Now I don’t care that the delivery service is not done by IKEA, but by a partner firm. 7/x
YOUR PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THIS PERMIT ISSUE TO US!!!!!! We had no clue!!! Now we don’t have our things and need to get a permit that is possibly even IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN without an address (how ironic!) To sum it up, we got TWO crucial pieces of information WRONG or 8/x
OMITTED by IKEA Anderlecht staff, and it has caused us to miss several days of work and cost us a lot of money. This is absolutely unacceptable and we might have to reconsider choosing IKEA as our number one. 9/9
