Just spent about 30 minutes doing a bit of research on the prevalence of learning styles on the top 10 US schools of education's websites. This ranking is according to the @USNewsEducation. Here's a link to the current rankings: usnews.com/best-graduate-…

Here's what I found:
After accessing the home page of each school's website, I simply searched for 'learning styles' & only viewed the 1st page of results in all cases. 8 out of 10 had either an article or professor resume mentioning the term...Only @uclagseis and @UWMadison School of Ed. did not
have any immediately accessible mention of learning styles.

Only the search of @TeachersCollege yielded an article where learning styles was mentioned as a myth.

This certainly isn't meant to be an indictment of these schools on the whole, but rather show how prevalent
the term and idea of learning styles is...if you can find it in a quick search of the top ten schools in America, then it seems reasonable to me that an expanded search would yield similar results.

Just food for thought when people say that no on believes in learning styles
and we should really just stop beating a dead horse. It doesn't appear to me the horse is dead...at all.

I wrote a little bit about the learning styles myth here:
