The govt. of India today imposes ENGLISH at all levels.

It imposes English for Engineering, Medicine, most High Courts, Supreme Court, for entrance exams, CAT, MBA. All major developed countries succeed by using their own languages.

Does the policy fix this? @narendramodi
The biggest myth is that the govt promotes Indian Languages but people want English.

As enumerated above, the govt imposes English in all ways. The people are given no choice. To succeed in the #EnglishApartheid state English has been made a requirement.
Being ignorant is not being “practical.” Today China is exceeding the US in Artificial Intelligence by using Chinese education at all levels. Israel leads in technology using Hebrew, Japan using Japanese. We peddle ignorance.

Firstly we did develop technical vocabulary, just never used it. Secondly, tech work is being done is Sanskrit-based South East Asian languages like Thai. Can pollinate from there. Just requires political will, can be fixed in one generation.
What nonsense. Indian engineers are doing coolie work, largely for the US. How many cutting edge technology companies has India produced? Check recent Magic Eye acquisition from Israel.

Indian frogs in the well think “world” uses English. Even in the US I hired programmers in Microsoft from Russia who didn’t know a word of English, interviewed them through an interpreter. Some of my best hires.

Check number of Chinese students in US.

There is language of learning (or medium) and language of communication. They do NOT have to be the same. Research proves we learn best in the mother tongue. For communication one can always learn languages as needed. India does not need one *medium*.

English demand is rampant in India not because it is some “global” language but because even to give the SSC exam to became a sub-inspector in UP ENGLISH has been made a requirement by the government.

Govt policy creates this, not “global need.”
No, China has over 300 languages but they imposed Mandarin.

India does not need to do that. It has always been a multi-language country. Its population is one and a half times Europe. It can promote multiple languages for higher ed.
