Can't stop thinking abt the initial disbelief, even among Jews in captivity, abt gas chambers.
Can't stop thinking abt our own disbelief that govts can orchestrate mass exclusions & racist murders - "they mean nothing to him" - even when we see it over and over across the world

It begins with 'small' discriminatory laws: XYZ can't own businesses, Rohingyas can't join army/be civil servants, Sri Lankan Tamils need to score more marks than Sinhalese to be doctors.
Those it doesn't affect shrug it off.

Apolitical, some people call themselves in #India today. Practical. Smug. Not genuinely confused (which I am too), but cynical or dismissive about alternatives. They watch #Sabarimala protests all day & say they're moderates.
What they are is just lazy to think.

Look around you. The #NRC for the whole country to remove Muslims, Christians. Artists, musicians, journalists silenced. No jobs, poor agro, but <5 rich unscrupulous Gujarati businesses getting corrupt red carpets. Party cadre filled with Dalits but candidates/leaders upper caste

The daylight murders of 'others' are already happening. Even children are spewing hate now. What level of murder are you waiting for before you realise what is happening?
Remember, it is politics for those doing it, not for us. For us, it is life.

Thru my journalism, I try to address fence sitters. Who knows if it works. Maybe I'm preaching to the converted or those ready to see. But I do it in hope & to help those attacked.
So I'm usually uncomfy abt rants. I swallow them before they emerge from my mouth/pen.
