Russia Today doesn't grasp neither fiction, nor grammar. Nor logic.
Seriously, this is an egregious tweet. The heroism that followed? I remember that heroism. Kremlin chose to inform its Warsaw Pact lackeys 3 days after the event. They chose to inform their citizens several days later, as the May Day mass parades were not to be disturbed. Fuckers
I was happily riding my bicycle under the spring rain on Apil 30 1986. Later that evening I heard on @RFERL that earlier that day, the radioactive cloud had reached Bulgaria.
I rushed downstairs to tell my grandparents to not eat
lettuce from their garden. My commie grandfather told me to stop listening to fake news.
...just over a month later, our yard cat gave birth to four kittens...all hairless...never grew hair. I was sure it was because of Chernobyl, and maybe I was wrong. Not one survived the winter.
..after this happened, I wanted to become one of two things: a doctor or a journalist. I remember I bought all the med school textbooks I could find (I was 16), to try and save the kittens. Failed at that, so went for the other.
Happy my son is going for doctor, though.
