I am aware that the Ekiti state govt have started collecting 100naira per day from Okada riders and other commercial vehicles with the aim of boosting our IGR.

Good. However, with the current template, half of the money will go into private purse.

I took my time to interract with some Okada riders to actually analyse their opinions sir @kfayemi

While i discovered that most of the bikes i took have been collecting the tickets, it was obvious some of their colleagues have developed the gimmick of beating the system.

How?

Currently, we don't even have the accurate data on Okada riders/other commercial vehicles in the state. I humbly think that should be the first step.

How do we know how much is the state making per day on this initiative if we don't have accurate figure of okadas in Ado alone.

I am aware from my findings that some people have started exploiting this loopholes. Very easy. The ticketing system by the Unions is a conduit pipe for embezzlement.

We are now in the age of IT. The State IGR agency should first embark on massive registration of Okada riders/Other commercial vehicles.

A unique code should be generated and this should be used to issue out tickets to these folks with different designated centers.

The idea of cash system should be discouraged. We should even make easy in such a way that with a code, Okada riders can pay for their tickets using the Nokia phone.

That is the way to go sir @kfayemi if truly we want to boost our IGR.

The State IGR agency should have a special task force to check thw ticket of the Okada riders/other commercial vehicle owners as from 1pm everyday. Anybody found culpable should be made to pay a fine directly to the agency.

Like i said earlier sir @kfayemi the current template is not sustainable and it has already open doors for those that want to milk the system.
