Well done @Eva_Cosse -- I'm so glad that finally, @hrw seems to begin to take antisemitism seriously.
So maybe @hrw will also look at its own deplorable record in mainstreaming antisemitism. Let me give you a few examples 1/x
Top @hrw official @sarahleah1 has repeatedly legitimized sites that are known for promoting antisemitic content as reputable news sites. Here's a thread with a few examples 👇

I also find it particularly obscene that @sarahleah1 seems to have a soft spot for the Islamist terror group Hamas, that after all has an openly antisemitic charter and tries at best as it can to live up to it
I'm sure @Eva_Cosse that you know that the German parliament recently denounced #BDS as antisemitic. Here's just one illustration why this is entirely justified

But unfortunately, while German Neo-Nazis embrace #BDS because it treats Israel as the Jew of the nations, @hrw is employing veteran anti-Israel activist & #BDS supporter @OmarSShakir -- and it's pretty ridiculous to claim he's able to be objective...

So @Eva_Cosse - it would be great if @hrw got serious about fighting antisemitism. A good first step would be to adopt the widely accepted @TheIHRA definition of antisemitism and require staff to abide by it and refrain from demonizing Israel as an evil that has to be eliminated.
And please @WenzelMichalski -- take note that German neo-Nazis embrace #BDS and accurately summarize BDS activism with "Israel is our misfortune"

German neo-Nazis were bursting with pride when they recently hung their "Israel is our misfortune" poster on a signpost that marks the location of the destroyed synagogue in the German town of Gelsenkirchen.

There was an eerie echo of history to see the updated Nazi slogan "Israel is our misfortune" at the signpost marking the destroyed synagogue, because in 1937, the street where the synagogue stood was renamed for the Nazi magazine “Der Stürmer.”

As someone who teaches this stuff, I’ve had to outline and consider both sides of the Electoral College argument every year, and for most of my life my privilege allowed me to sit comfortably in my EC ambivalence. /2
But year after year, as good teaching and/or good students pushed me to dig deeper into the EC’s past and present, it became clear that a more realistic evaluation of the EC exposes the need for a more critical analysis. /3

Challenging #antisemitism can lead to hysterical counter-accusations that others with racist views are happy to endorse. After encountering Charles Harding, a #Labour member in Liverpool, dismissing concerns about a/s on Facebook, I accepted his challenge to provide examples. /1
I didn't have to go far afield to find examples because, despite Charles's friends backing his view that antisemitism is just "made-up bullshit", "fake news", "propaganda", etc, his own timeline is in fact replete with #antisemitic posts. As indeed I pointed out to him ... /2
Charles Harding's posts present Jews as "criminals and liars ... afraid of being criticised" who "control the media", "poison your food", "create social unrest", "fund both sides in wars" and run a "shadow government". His sources include neo-Nazi and Holocaust denial sites. /3

1. Given @SethAbramson response to @DavidCornDC book excerpt this morning, I'd like to lay out an argument about Trump's Moscow dealings that may help that discussion.
2. The Trump Organization always had multiple projects going on. Felix Satter with MIchael Cohen, Trump Jr., and Trump himself pursued deals in Russia. The talks overlapped. None came to fruition because of the financial crisis (2008) and sanctions (2012).
3. Donald Trump Jr. pursued deals for the Trump Organization in Central Europe in the 2000s. But although he spoke at seminars and famously said the company had lots of money from Russia. But he does not seem to have done development deals in Russia.
