It is absolutely common knowledge that we always prepare to fight the last war. A simple corollary that may help is, we never prepare to fight the coming war which will with 100% certainty NOT be like the last one. Never is a very big word. Perhaps we should forgive ourselves.

Clearly, we're dealing with human nature here. Clearly, we suffer a blind spot in our minds' thinking about the past and the future. It is difficult to cleanse the mind of the past when thinking about the future. Yet, this is precisely what Master Sun insists upon, stringently.

Today's verse offers us in the #MAGA movement both hope and warning. We lost the House in 2018. That was a specific set of circumstances which will not be repeated. In 2020, there will not be 40 Republican members who give up their seats, willingly, happily, in obvious sabotage.

That's the hope our verse offers. We won't repeat 2018. The warning is that we cannot recreate 2016, either. We will enjoy no HRC to run against, again. How many of us voted for @realDonaldTrump more to defeat her than to support him? 2020 offers no such ease.

Okay, okay, I admit. The split in the Democrat party remains. I had many Bernie supporting friends who ended up voting for @realDonaldTrump, more because they felt betrayed by the DNC than for any other reason. The same split is here, now, and will be even worse in 2020.

No one can be as horrible a candidate as HRC was. That can't be repeated. But the current field offers close to no hope for the Democrats. Every single one of their contenders is deeply flawed from a national perspective. So, perhaps we are allowed to enjoy that.

The serious problem is this. Even if the eventual Democrat nominee ends up having no hope of victory, the House and Senate remain up for grabs. I do not have the detail over each race that my friend @ShariWassell is forging at her website. We are so fortunate to have her work.

Today's verse indicates that we must NOT imagine we can easily regain the House, or easily hold onto the Senate. Even if we assume a second term for our leader, if we foist divided government upon him, we risk the entire #MAGA mission itself. Yet again, here are our 10 goals.

1. Remember The Forgotten Americans
2. Rule Of Law
3. American Jobs
4. Quality Of Life For Every American
5. Heal Our Cities
6. Build The Wall
7. Make America Wealthy Again
8. Make America Strong Again
9. Make America Safe Again
10. Make America Great Again

It is vastly less important to ask how we may win elections. It is vastly more important that we ask how we may accomplish all 10 objectives. We clearly rallied to those objectives in 2016. We clearly failed to rally to them in 2018. How will we rally in 2020?

Reelecting @POTUS is NOT enough. It is nowhere near enough. We MUST increase #MAGA representation in the Senate. We need 60 #MAGA Senators. We must reclaim the House. We must oust Nancy Pelosi. We must do more. Consider states like California, New York, and Illinois.

If we leave them behind, with no #MAGA movement of account, we abandon these states to the regressive left. Shame on us if we do. There must be districts that are winnable. We must make headway as a movement in even the most regressive left leaning states.

Your state? Your county or district? Can it be won? Do you know? How would you even start to care, let alone project an outcome, not to mention to affect that outcome? I have to ask. Can you accept that 2018's defeat was ours, that its consequences linger?

Don't listen to the professional analysts. They'll tell you that there are certain outcomes in most districts and that only a certain few districts, swing districts, are in play. This is common knowledge. It is also 100% malarkey. Think about it. What would John Paul Jones say?

I say there are 435 fights across our land for each and every seat in the House. I say that it is on us to do our damndest, to present our finest fight in each and every one of those 435 fights. How dare we surrender before we begin? Shame on us. Shame. Shame.

Where is our fighting grit? Where is our will to win? Why have we never unleashed ourselves with relentless force, all out endeavor, demanding that the wind be fair and following and drive us to the victory that America Herself demands of us? Why don't we fight?

How did our mettle become so weak? How did we grow so lazy, complacent, and apathetic? If we continue on that path, we become nothing more than merely pathetic has-beens, remembering 2016 for the rest of our lives like Al Bundy and his glory days in high school.

It is time to begin our preparations for the coming war, NOT the last one. we must prepare to win the #WarForAmerica2020. Let me say it again. Retake the House. 60+ #MAGA Senators. @realDonaldTrump's second term. Nothing less. That is the only definition of victory in 2020.

I brag. In 2016, I knew that our fight for America was now, and I fought. I began my fight as John Paul Jones would have me. Looking forward to 2020, I ask. Have you begun your fight? Are you dedicated to victory at any cost? I am. I ask you to join me.

Master Sun so gently explains, we simply cannot win 2020 as we won 2016, and encourages us that we do not have to lose it as we lost 2018. It is a new war, he tells us. Look and listen, learn, fight a new war and win. It's a thrilling command. Can you feel it?
