One of the worst part of the story is after Kolomoisky & Boholiubov allegedly stole $5.5 billion from Privatbank - Ukraine, which has the lowest per capita GDP in Europe - nationalized PrivatBank in 2016 & saddled taxpayers with the $5.9 billion bailout

Thompson should have disclosed these connections voluntarily, since she holds top security clearances & worked for decades as a US intelligence officer... failure to report the info was an intelligence vulnerability that could have been used against her

can I just say that I prefer how yen works than to how dollars/euros/pounds work.
what's the point of cents, anyway? just make your base unit the same and never go decimal.
what does this cost? 0.25? no, it costs 25. is that 1 dollar and 50 cents? no, it's 150.
it might just be because I'm an old school programmer who still doesn't trust floating point numbers (not that you should ever use floating point numbers for money) but yen never has decimals. that would be a very tiny amount of money so you wouldn't do, realistically.
and to be honest the US already has a lot of pointless coins. what's the actual use of a penny, really?
clearly we should renumerate our currency and make the base unit the quarter. call it an eagle. No dollars, just eagles. no decimal, just integer numbers of eagles.
