My bad luck. Yesterday, it took me around 8 hrs of waiting at the border to cross to Syria.

It is very very hot here.

Today I wanted to film a story but I completely lost my voice, leaving me - quite literally - speechless. 😥

Any homemade remedies u recommend?
Natural honey is on the way. Its impossible to find ginger here. So I'll stick to tea and honey. Also hot water and salt.
Rock candy to the rescue - Syrian remedy. Still no improvement.

1- When Raqqa was the capital of ISIS, the Syrian city was every day in the news.

But 2 yrs after ISIS lost Raqqa, it is largely forgotten now.

I went there this month. I saw small signs of recovery but it'll take ages to rebuild. Photo thread.

2- Last time I visited Raqqa, it was during Coalition/SDF attack on ISIS in city.

Back then, lots of fighting, bombing &hardly any civilian. Now destruction still overwhelming but people return, rebuild lives around rubble like this snack bar Al Hadri.

3- The destruction in Raqqa is really overwhelming but at least some buildings have been renovated such as this hospital, the yellowish building in the middle with the cars infront of it.

1- For over a month, I've been in Northern Syria.

Despite the poverty & the threat of war, the people here (Kurds & Arabs) have been so generous to me. Its beyond what u imagine.

In this thread, I'll post few photos of some great meals we were invited to. Look at this.

3- It was the first time I meet this family.

But they refused to let us leave their house without treating us to Mloukhiye and rice fatta.

This was very much a target of the jihadi element within Syria's "rebels" (and while surely it is there somewhere - good luck trying to find that non-jihadi element within that "revolution" by the grace of USA).
Over the yeas of USA's war against Syria, I have increasingly been critical of a Western "pro-Syria space" commenting ONLY on the danger to Christians. They ignore that as far as the takfiri mindset is concerned, there's only one group in Syria that has NO CHOICE but death: Shi'i
It is only because of victories by Syria's army around Damascus that renovations could recently be made to the courtyard of this important shrine. For years the takfiris wanted to destroy this important symbol of our Shi'i brothers - destroy part of Damascus' history and culture.

Did CNN use the same little girl in three different refugee crisis pictures?

Answer: No, they didn't. This triptych simply captures one girl being passed around from a rescuer, caretaker, or family members in Aleppo, #Syria, in August 2016. (Thread).
