THREAD: new data/observation

In my clinic, we remotely monitor blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar, body weight, fat percentage, water weight through tele-medicine software.

I have seen the following consistent pattern during high stress time periods

1/4
During life stress, the blood sugar and blood pressure rise first often preceding weight gain by 1-2 days. Total weight and Water weight increases thereafter, followed by fat percentage by several days.

The average “stress stall/bloat” is 2-3 weeks.

2/4
The blood pressure & heart rate then normalizes, followed by the glycemia. If the patient’s appetite is reasonably controlled then weight loss will usually resume thereafter and often resumes unimpeded.

3/4
If the patient details off of lifestyle plan, the blow can be a huge setback confidence wise. During these times of stress my whole staff and I increase contact and lend our support when needed to ensure patients stay on track

4/4
Final tweet: in fact, when we see blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar and water weight rise together, we usually reach out and check in. This is a warning sign for us
