When Elizabeth Warren talks to young girls she says she's "running for president because that's what girls do."

Please don't dismiss the difference. Presidents should also be role models.

This isn't really about Biden. Or even Trump. It's about choosing a better future than our past. We were all taught that toxic masculinity was OK and to uphold the patriarchy. Building a more inclusive, respectful version of our country is way past due. That starts at the top.

Kamala, Pete, Bernie, Beto, Amy, Cory, Kirsten, Julian, etc. aren't making these inappropriate remarks either. Only Joe. Are folks trying to go backward? Honestly, some Democratic voters seem to be revolting against #MeToo and "political correctness." It's very disappointing.

People who give Biden a pass claiming that his behavior is "generational" are accidentally making the wrong point. We need to model different conduct for the generations currently coming of age than we did in previous eras.

Those who blow off criticism of Biden acting inappropriate as baseless attacks from those who hate Democrats should know that this is a legitimate concern many of us lifelong Dem voters have. Yes, I'll vote for Biden in the general if he wins the primary, but we can do better.

I'll also take accountability here. I used to buy into the cool Uncle Joe BS. I gave him a pass for a long time because Barack Obama made him veep. Lots of us did. But he's no Obama. Think about how Obama acts around women. That's a role model. The difference couldn't be starker.

Why did Obama pick him? I'm sure Barack likes Joe, especially after they got to know one another, but he was also the first black nominee in a racist ass country and Biden was an older, white, conservative Democrat who helped make Obama more palatable for prejudiced voters.
