Did they separate parents from kids? Yes. Did they implement a zero tolerance policy similar to Trump admin which made that more common? No

However, that policy was ended last year. It no longer exists and has almost nothing to do with the issues at these facilities.
I get that actual facts seem irrelevant on Twitter, but the same facilities that AOC is freaking out about operated in almost same way during the Obama years. If they are evil now, they were evil then. But no one thought that back then.
We have a real crisis at the border w/ influx of cases and lack of resources. Many, including some Democrats, are treating it seriously. That means looking for solutions such as providing the resources authorities need to deal with it.

That's how we dealt with the 2014 crisis.

Some on the right will use this story to justify bad policies such as complete refugee bans. Some on the left will ignore it to justify their support for few or no restrictions on who we should let into this country.

But there are real lessons here that should be considered.
Putting aside Trump's original ignorant and bigoted Muslim ban proposal, there is a legitimate discussion to be had specifically about refugees from Syria and a few other war-torn countries.
Accepting Syrian refugees can change those lives, but we can only do so under certain circumstances that prioritize safety and security of Americans. Law enforcement agencies have repeatedly said they could not properly vet refugees from Syria in recent years.

My favorite thing today was definitely the AOC defenders adopting the "focusing on the the accuracy of what she said and calling her out is a distraction from the bigger issue" defense without realizing they have become exact mirrors of the cultists who defend Trump.
Remember when Trump claimed that Mexico was sending over rapists and killers? Media got outraged and kept pointing out it was false. Defenders said some bad people come across so his comments are justified.

That's exactly the logic AOC's defenders adopted today.

We're FUNDAMENTALLY talking about Barr and Mueller in the wrong way.

According to the Special Counsel rules, in basic terms, the Attorney General MUST notify Congress if he ever disagreed, overruled, or blocked the Special Counsel.

#IMO: Barr violated DOJ rules by failing to disclose he OVERRULED Mueller.

In his first letter, Barr told Congress "there were no such instances" where he disagreed, overruled, or blocked Mueller.

But, his decision to exonerate Trump, when Mueller would not, is just that. [2/2]
#RELATED: While the Special Counsel rules mandate that Barr notifies Congress if he interferes w/ the investigation...

...those rules DON'T apply for the 14 investigations Mueller handed-off.

They could be impeded and Barr wouldn't have to tell anyone.

1/ Before independence, most suburbs had manicured gardens: lush green lawns, flowers that seems to bloom all year round, working flood drains & just well presented gardens. They were straight out of the gardening magazines...
2/ Black people, in most cases, could only be in those neighbourhoods with a pass for work. Very few were allowed to or managed to buy those homes during that era. The majority heard about them as legends told by those who worked for "Murungu".
