Why do creative people smoke Weed? Is it a prerequisite for creativity? 🤔
The Legendary Bob Marley posits that you don’t have to smoke herbs to be a Rasta but it sure helps isolate you from the noise, distractions, life troubles etc. It numbs you enough to connect with your deeper essence. It is however noteworthy that some can connect naturally.
Critical Thinking is a function of balance between the biochemical events in the brain. While some will be ruined by external influence with chemicals that help stimulate the brain, others need it to function. Da Vinci was mostly high while connecting to his inner depths.
While some of us rely on the Holy Spirit, most make do with the spirits trapped in the bottle and those encapsulated in substances that may need to smoked out. Motive is all there is. Criminalizing everything won’t bring sanity to our civilization like in-depth Understanding. 🚨
What works for me can only be explained by the concept of Synchronicity- a concept, first introduced by analytical psychologist Carl Jung, which holds that events are "meaningful coincidences" if they occur with no causal relationship yet seem to be meaningfully related.
Seasons change and the leaves falls by themselves. You can be still in trust, while you quieten the noise in the mind in faith that all will be well. It is all about your perspective & experience. Knowing who you are in purpose solves 99% of all issues.
With the balance of thoughts and understanding of purpose, you are able to create an unwritten program that guides you from the whims of the throbbing Ego. You are mostly driven in this state by the unconscious while maintaining & manifesting in consciousness.
A great artist draws physically a picture projected in his mind so vividly despite all that is going on around him. He may have devoted over 10,000 hours to this practice that has now become second nature. He calls this up at will to the awe of people unaware of their own self.
A song may be your own trigger. To some it is in the taste buds. Other need a woman or man (Muse). The channel through which we express synchronicity also differs but the most common platform is through the arts, which makes it mysterious. The science bit we can easily prove.
I once met a great philosopher and trainer @Brian_Mayne. He is the creator of Goal Mapping. Why we were talking I found we had so much in common. He too is a DJ from a humbling background. We then realized we were birthday mates and in sync in philosophy & love for neurology.
There’s been many postulations about synchronicity from varying school of thoughts ranging from it being a manifestation of Brahman or the fundamental connection of all living things within the universe (Hindus), non-local mind (Quantum physicists), message from the higher soul..
...Skeptics call this Apophenia or the practice of seeing connections and patterns in random and/or meaningless data, to the views of Behavioral economists, classifying it as a form of confirmation bias. You know how it feels when got yourself a Benz and all you see is that? 🤔
It is not that the adoption of Benz suddenly spiked but your attention is now keen subconsciously to take mental note of this data now that you can relate. If you move around with ‘Casanovas’ (Yoruba Demons) and you got indoctrinated, you may begin to objectify women.
So different events steer our sensitivities towards a part of us we never knew existed. Synchronicity is far too common and too intriguing an experience to overlook or quickly dismiss and forget about. Your meaning only comes from within you as inspired by external forces.
Just know that there is a such a thing as the unconscious mind, Harmony of energy, law of attraction (which dictates habits- which all humans are guilty of) and psychic abilities. You can only tune in to this if you pay attention. (Fi ara burúkú bälè - calm your impatient self).
It doesn’t hurt to be mindful and aware, open and receptive, humble, trusting and follow one’s instinct based on understanding as dictated by exposure - learning from the account of the lives of others, who lead by example. We also can cultivate the habit of praying. Be still.
By learning how to correctly interpret the signs and omens that appear in your life, you’ll be able to know when you’re on the right path, when you’re making the wisest choices, and when you’re living aligned with your deepest needs and values. 🙏🏽

You know how shallow our society is and often times when something is said you are compelled to admonish on what you have not said. For all that it is worth “Not All Creative People are hooked on Drugs.” I hope this shuts down that distraction. The thread speaks for itself.
