Walmart to pay $137M fine under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act for bribery in Brazil. They are the most recent of many large companies to get busted based on info the FBI shared with Brazil in 2014-15. #ButNothingsHappening HT @BabeReflex_8

Prosecution by USA for Eastern District of Virginia Terwilliger brought the case. His dad was Barr's DAG in early 1990s.
The guilty plea is for the Brazilian division of Walmart, the corruption in this case covers 2000-2011. Finally being prosecuted now.
This settlement covers the Brazilian subsidiary but the announcement also points to other cases in Mexico, India & China. Wonder if we will see more about soon too!
Wonder why it took 8 years for the DOJ to get around to prosecuting this case....
Walmart saved about 25% on the fines by fully cooperating & flipping on the guilty parties!

All CEOs should know by now to flip early & often!

Walmart also agreed to pay $144M to the SEC for violations for to this case. Bringing the total fines to $282M. If this is like the other cases, this is only the beginning, because other nations & regulators will be given the file to bring more charges.

Walmart has known this was coming for a long time as they announced in 2017, that they were setting aside $300M on their books for potential fines & legal costs. But no one paid attention & thought nothing was happening.

NGO's paying bribes for infrastructure projects in Haiti, well what an interesting thing for the FBI to be investigating! Wonder what other NGO's were paying bribes in Haiti through their non-profit foundations!

Canadian #MoneyLaundering network operating since 1994 is taken down by the DOJ. Picked up checks/cash in the UK & Netherlands, opened envelopes & processed the money in Ireland. Mail scams targeting US citizens. #ButNothingsHappening

4 Executive are charged, we will see how widely the issue spreads after this. They were only the processors, which gives DOJ/FBI the #receipts to go after their clients.
Scam must have been huge, 2 of the defendants each earned $15M over just 2 years of the scam.
Operation ran from 1994 until September 2016.

1. With #AntiQ attacks on the #QAnon movement at an all time high, I think it's important to focus on one of the biggest proofs of what is really going on - the #sealedindictments. 45,468 at last count. You can click through to the PACER from reports here: drive.google.com/open?id=1KPh2A…
2. But is this real? Anyone can just make a Google spreadsheet with fake reports, right? I don't have time to count every single indictment to confirm the number. So I picked 1 at random, then went to PACER to see if I could verify it.
3. The information was not exactly the same, but matched up on both. A large number of sealed indictments are there on PACER, for anyone to see. Here's a screenshot of the report I picked side by side with the PACER report
