We don't yet know the long-term psychological impact of encouraging this generation to believe that reality isn't real. Does it help a child when adults affirm their 'true self' is split off from their body? Does it help formation of a stable identity - the task of adolescence?

'Affirming' a child unquestioningly as transgender means that underlying trauma or mental health issues are not addressed. So @imperialcollege seems to have forced Vice-Provost
@SEBuitendijk to issue an apology, based on malicious and unsubstatiated allegations against us by a 3rd year student. You would expect that an institute renowned for science would check the evidence first.
Fact and evidence-based research is important to us. In fact our founder was shortlisted for the John Maddox Prize 2018 for promoting "sound science and evidence on a matter of public interest, facing difficulty or hostility in doing so." transgendertrend.com/transgender-tr…
But @imperialcollege seems to have just accepted a student's report without question and have publicly validated this student's defamation of Transgender Trend. We had a good chat with our lawyers about this earlier today.

-AWS for transportation is its final form
-It's a modern day temp agency; driver churn is 3-5x below industry avg
-Eats cities profitable in 4-6 quarters, aggressive expansion impacted 2H‘18, 40% of users are new to Uber, and is a wedge into last mile delivery
If you’re reading this, I’m assuming you’ve read other Uber S-1 takes. We all knew Uber was burning cash, but a lack of cohort data (both drivers and riders), and its core business metrics collapsing to end 2018, was surprising.
Like most US companies, the US and developed Europe are likely Uber’s cash cows, but international revenue helps cover overhead, and can be incremental cash flow.

Okay. So. It's time once again for me to do that thing I do: a deep dive into Trump's state of the union speech.
For new followers who've tuned in since the last time I did this, bear in mind I am not a factchecker. That's a different (though related) skill set and best done by people with the training, resources, and editorial oversight that I don't have.
What I do have is a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for people who don't like long, reflective Twitter threads or believe it's possible to overthink something.
