I design these backpacks for people who live in and travel between cities. Here are some of the little things about the designs that my customers tell me they like.

Yes, this is thread about design details on a #backpack.
Some people like waist straps. Others don’t. So the waist strap on the #RiutBag is removable (and reattachable) just for the times you really want it. When not in use, the buckles fold away into small purpose-made pockets. #waiststrap
I’m not a fan of dangling straps. But I make the #RiutBag for a broad range of body sizes. So once you’ve found the right position for your straps, the rest can be rolled and tied neatly away. #strap
This strap is here so you can put the #riutbag over a suitcase handle. This is more likely when this design is in compact mode. (You’ll see in a moment)
I put this really thick, sturdy, durable base on the #riutbag so you know your laptop and cameras are safe when you put your bag down: even in rain, snow, mud, grit - well, anywhere really.
You’ve got lots of handles to grab on to on the #RiutBag.
You can open up the back of the #RiutBag to access or stow away your laptop on the go or at airport security.
There are these long stretchy bottle holders on the new #RiutBag for water, or non-bottles like umbrellas, rain covers, rain coats on the outside
If you unzip the #RiutBag completely, it opens up like a suitcase. There are 35 pure litres of space for you to fill. The bright interior is to help you find your belongings easily
You can use this large max carry-on #riutbag or fold it into a slimmer, everyday carry backpack. When it’s compact it’s designed for the commute. When it’s expanded it’s cabin luggage for flying. #origami
The bottle holders and laptop compartment on the #RiutBag X35 work when it’s compact and when it’s expanded. The only thing that changes is the capacity and the look.
The #riutbag material - an anti-anbrasive woven nylon called Cordura - is the best material I could get my hands on. It’s built for the long run, thick, protective, waterproof and machine washable.
Something I haven’t mentioned is perhaps the most important thing about a #riutbag. I remove all the zips on the outside (where usually the person behind you can open your bag) and put them all again your back. So your RiutBag is always secure when it’s on your back.
A smaller benefit of having no outer zips: when the zips are against your back - they should be right in the centre - your #riutbag doesn’t make any sound when you run or walk. It is silent. This is pleasing.
I’ve just finished designing this new secure, foldable, shape-shifting backpack called #RiutBag X35. And you can have it. It’s available to pre-order on Kickstarter for 2 more days: 25% off, including a waist strap (£12) + new secure cross body bag (£20) for FREE. (I know 😳)
If we find 60 more people to pre-order it, I’ll send all Kickstarter backers an extra free travel gift too: a hyper-reflective 100% waterproof cover. It’s black on the other side. Usually £25.
So here’s the #riutbag #kickstarter link 👉 kickstarter.com/projects/10900… Travel securely, with peace of mind, through the city and the globe. If you’re happy to use my designs when you travel, join us 🙌 Share with your followers. They might be looking for precisely this bag 🚀
Thank you for reading about the things I make 🙏
