Unsurprisingly, it appears @RealCandaceO lied about being required to take a Feminism 101 course while at the University of Rhode Island. This is the curriculum for her journalism program when she left in 2010/2011 (h/t @KwadeSays).

As you can see, listed under requirements for social sciences, a student is required to complete one of four courses from List B:

APG 203: Cultural Anthropology
SOC 240: Race and Ethnic Relations
SOC 242: Sex and Gender
WGS 150: Intro to Women’s and Gender Studies

So, while “Feminism 101” was an option for @RealCandaceO to fulfill a requirement, it was not the only option. This is quite misleading.

But here’s a good question: why shouldn’t every student in a college degree program be exposed to basic concepts on race, gender, and sexuality? Why do conservatives rant about “safe spaces” and champion “the marketplace of ideas” only when it’s convenient?

Also, @realcandaceo given my conservative background and military service and the fact that between the two of us, I def. have more, uh, “conservative” creds than you do, maybe throwing out “radical leftist” ain’t a great look. Happy Pride! 😘

I guess I violated @realcandaceo’s “safe space” with facts. Tragic.
