As a rule, older white male pundits are more shocked and dismayed by women and black people running for president than they are by the so-called president's corruption and concentration camps.
Their perspective is worse than worthless. It's rooted in an era of oppressive white male dominance and delusional American jingoism and is therefore actively harmful. The only reason we suffer their out-of-touch bloviating is because they refuse to make way.
The myths of American whiteness and exceptionalism need to die posthaste.
