I need to have a fucking rant
I love this "ALP votes for tax Armageddon" Left fight. It's really healthy - Labor needs a bucket of shit poured on them, *even though* it was the only decision they could organisationally take at the moment as they're completely broken.
I hope everyone puts the boot in and encourages them - nay, forces them - to take a long hard look at themselves. A generation of political failure, where even the victories have been crushed in either post policy changes (NBN, NDIS etc) or historical narrative (GFC)
The MASSIVELY CONTESTED road they took, turned out to be a road of absolute political failure. The architects and owners of that failure need to reflect on both their life choices and the loudness of their future contributions.
Nothing will change until people put their grown up pants on - that means sending some "people" to Siberia, gutting the grifters that hang around the party solely to cash cheques, and believing in <checks notes> - oh yeah, what your members and the country demand of you.
The problem with professional politics is always that most people in it are never particularly professional. eg If you think the Murdoch media is unfair and a problem, you are the problem. An anachronistic problem. A successful politics makes them irrelevant
Your campaigning teams are not fit for purpose. Hiring Galaxy to run tracking polls tells everyone that you were so immature at politics that you thought tracking polls just meant <checks notes> "tracking the votes in marginal seats", not regression or combination work.
Let alone how that work (that you didn't do) feeds into daily messaging, the ads run that night, or *issue negation* etc. You got smashed in the campaign (literally 4 points of smashiness) because your campaign was.... the worst I have ever seen. And you hid what you were doing!
You can be the self interested 'leftish' party of bullshit artists, by bullshit artists (of a vintage of bullshit artistry that's 20 years out of date). Or you can pull the heads in of some of your dickheads and expand your horizons beyond "failure"
And you Greens, you need to shit or get off the pot. You either DO things, or you're a political Instagram account. Don't fucking @ me with your fragile-as-a-souffle, Pavlovian shit. Everyone can see what you're doing
