A Somali refugee escapes a hellhole and is welcomed here to the point where she becomes a Congresswoman despite a history of corruption, dishonesty (even admitting to making stuff up in this very story), and bigotry, but somehow America is the problem.
Yes, we know she pretends America is terrible while holding us to a standard she doesn’t apply to anyone else (except Israel).

Also, can any mainstream reporters cover Omar without extensively downplaying her bigotry and corruption?
America has far more reason to be disappointed with Ilhan Omar than Ilhan Omar has to be disappointed with America.

It's really annoying that people, including reporters, can't even do basic research about the topics they write about. It's really not that hard to gather accurate information in 2019.
Apparently I have to do everything for people. Fine. On the Soccer pay gap:

It's clear that if anything, the women's teams are paid more relative to the men's teams based on the revenue each side generates.
The topic of the USSF pay is much more complicated, but people are also getting a lot of things wrong there.

There is a slight pay disparity based on the collective bargaining agreements, but it is not as significant as people pretend and has a lot of factors.

Imagine the chutzpah it takes to go on national tv and invent ridiculous conversations like this to justify your completely indefensible positions.
I completely forgot about that. "Many people are saying..."

So Trumpian.

Also, she should at least brush up on what is actually happening at the border so she can invent more realistic conversations. Separating a mother and 2 year old is extremely rare now that zero tolerance policy is dead so no reason any CBP agent would cite that as an example.

People seem confused about World Cup pay. Each team gets paid from a total pot.

Prize money:

Women's 2019 World Cup = $30 million (~23%)
Men's 2018 World Cup = $400 million (~7%)

Now for revenue:

Women's estimate = $131 million
Men's revenue = over $6 Billion
There has been a lot of misinformation about this. People keep confusing (or intentionally conflating) U.S. team revenue with total FIFA Word Cup revenue on which these prizes are based.

The actual numbers speak for themselves.
A lot of the confusion is coming from bad reporting. Media outlets keep comparing the US women's team and the US men's team, but the comparison makes no sense with an international sport. US women's team takes higher % than their equivalent on men's side (French national team).

Okay folks I'm gonna do a thread on China demographics.

Basically, I see this weird line a lot that China is a super homogenous place: like it's a monolithic place that we need to be scared of because they are perfectly united against America.

That view is very wrong.
So I want to do a thread exploring just some basic data showing you a bit more about how diverse China is. And particularly, pointing out how much of China's apparent homogeneity is for a variety of reasons hard to pick up in official data.
The big question is ethnicity. China's dominant ethnicity is Han. Han is the ethnic group associated with Chinese. There are other ethnic groups that are properly or otherwise considered Chinese, but the Han ethnic group is the biggie.

They were hoping for a Deus Ex that would sweep Trump out of power w/even republican senators voting to remove him from office. That's not happening now.

They've invested so much time into it though that giving it up would mean admitting they were completely wasting their time.
