Conservatives are using courts & threats of secession to prevent enactment of Bills C-69 & C-48. Failure to halt these bills risks future election chances. Corporate giants are pressuring for unlimited expansion of fossil fuel production. Trillions on the line.

RAGE & LIES

Oil field workers & field services employers are increasingly surplus to industry producers through technology. Oil & gas jobs & local small businesses are desperate to get back to work. Kenney manipulated their collective rage & desperation to get elected.

He’s also given guarantees to oil service giants, who are hedging their survival & future business plans on the approval of unrestricted development of oil resources by producers in US & Canada.

Bills C-69 & C-48 are barriers to those plans and guarantees.

FROM THE KENNEY WAR ROOM

A conservative coalition of six provinces are jointly challenging the Constitution & Federal Purview. The Constitution gives the Federal Government the responsibility to enact laws to protect all citizens. Climate change is one of those situations.

While Kenney & his war room prepared conservative premiers are using legal means to challenge the constitutional powers, they’re also simultaneously fomenting western Canadian discontent & secession ambitions by ignoring the growing the secessionist rumblings.

Absent are any attempts by conservatives to quell the growing anger & desperation of fossil fuel dependent workers & their field service employers. Rather, they offer a conspiracy narrative that PM and the rest of Canada are against their ability to prosper from oil and gas.

Bill C-69 & C-48, when enacted, will cap the number of projects & the amount of development the new approval agency will allow. That was the entire reason these Bills were tabled: to create the legal framework to tie development to climate action to ensure targets are met.

Kenney knows this & is using legal & populist resistance to prevent the enactment of the new legislation. Kenney wants ANY & ALL regulations or laws preventing Alberta from unlimited & unrestricted oil & gas production: to maximize the wealth & prosperity he so often refers to.

Meaning, he’ll settle for nothing less than unhindered development. He rejects all climate action plans.

Regardless of the CPC plans to address climate change, Kenney’s actions and plans destroy any ability to trust in the veracity or impact CPC climate plans would have.

Bill C-69 effectively blocks the ability of Kenney to deliver on promises he made to get elected (i.e. replacing jobs lost; unfettered development of fossil fuel projects; multiple pipelines). That’s what the war room is attacking: Feds power to limit fossil fuel production.

ADAPT OR PROLIFERATE

Kenney has a huge problem. It’s what this desperate challenge of the constitution and of federal purview is all about.

The O&G Industry is enabled by new technology to make more money with fewer requirements from oil field services.

Meaning producers are using AI & technological advancements in lateral drilling, thus, requiring fewer field workers & creating a serious decline in the profitability of businesses & corporations devoted to oil field services.

This is international, not just in Alberta.

Corporations providing field services, are currently suffering huge losses & financial difficulty.

Industry giants Halliburton & Schlumberger are struggling to keep afloat financially. Weatherford International filed for bankruptcy July 1/19.

Large numbers of workers in oil field services in Western Canada, the businesses that employ them, & the investors in those businesses are in financial distress. Large corporations can temporarily adapt.

But the local smaller businesses are in dire straights.

Juggling to keep solvent, giants lost 65% of their market value since the oil price fell in 2014.

It’s these people who voted en masse for UCP, because they were guaranteed jobs, contracts, wealth & prosperity.

The only way to meet the guarantee is to exponentially expand production by so much that producers require all those workers & businesses.

CLIMATE DENIAL

Albertans & Canadians are inundated with climate denial narratives to assuage guilt & deliver a majority conservative vote, by UCP candidates, by think tanks like Fraser Institute, rallied by nationalists & by the Yellow Vest movement AND by pastors in churches.

Dominionist Christians believe in the inerrancy of the Bible and the Bible says, according to Dominionist Christian ideology, as Christian men, they have dominion over the earth & all its bounty. No need to pay attention to climate change. It’s a hoax or a natural phenomenon.

Kenney guaranteed he would out do provincial NDP plans to diversify & refused to accept LPC climate actions. He guaranteed to fully reemploy all workers & reestablish the profitability of oil field service businesses by doubling or tripling production & denying global warming.

These promises were also made by the premiers of 6 provinces (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick and the Northwest Territories) that the boom is just around the corner. Notice all are directly fossil fuel industry investors, reserves or GHG emitters.

As soon as Scheer and CPC are elected, the expansion & unfettered fossil fuel development would commence. Bill C-69 & C-48 prevent that plan from being actualized immediately. If the bills are enacted, it means it’s the prevailing law until CPC passes a new one.

GUARANTEES TO INDUSTRY GIANTS

Recent reports confirm promises were made to industry.

A recent Schlumberger stock upgrade promises expansion of 261% per share & 36% growth rate.

Forbes cautiously predicts “weaker long-term revenue growth” for Halliburton.

But Halliburton is convinced after 4 years of being held back, their prospects are about to vastly improve.

It couldn’t be more obvious that these field service giants are expecting North American drilling expansion. In Canada.

The US has expanded production under Trump administration. It’s Canadian expansion these corporations are counting on.

Industry producers are currently making profits hand over fist. Imagine the wealth they would generate if they doubled or tripled production in Canada.

And look who has been buying up all the failing oil companies. Chinese private investors.
