Since when was it right to cage our fellow human without trial.

What has this world become.

I fear we keep repeating the same mistakes, and we are doomed to repeat history.
I need everyone to stop and think do they want to be a part of a system that is ok with perpetrating this much cruelty to each other.

Think about that and your own role in that system.
Since when is it acceptable to take children from their parents?
Since when is it acceptable to sit in comfort, while others only a small distance away are in abject terror and misery?
Since when it is ok to attempt to purposefully strike fear in the hearts of children to win points politically?
Since when is acceptable for the @VP of the most powerful country and staunch Christian able to tolerate the stench of his own policies?
Since when has America not fought for the weak in search of higher ideals and principles?
Since when did it become ok to demonize a person based upon where they come from or what they believe and not afford them basic human dignity?
Since when did America become so numb and by extension complicit to the horrors that are occuring every day?
Since when did people stop searching for a way to be better? Instead devolve into what humanity can be at its worst?
Since when is it wrong that people of faith and good morals do nothing in the face of injustice and intolerance?
Since when did people disgrace the sacrifice of their ancestors who sacrificed so much on the altar of freedom to watch people take up causes those very ancestors died to defeat?
When did we stop asking people to sacrifice collectively rich and poor to make the world a better place?
Ask yourself do you feel good sleeping in your bed at night while others suffer unnecessarily so close to where you sleep?
Would you like another to inflict that suffering upon you or a family member for the crime of wanting a better existence?
Do you feel a sense of collective shame or pride for what is occurring? If it is neither than it is complicity.
Since when is it wrong to demand your neighbors to be better than they are?

To treat those around them with more respect and compassion?
When did empathy and compassion become bad words?
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the songs of angry men?
It is the music of the people
Who will not be slaves again!
Are you disgusted yet? Do you feel the bile at the back of your throat?

Do you know that disgusting taste of people treating people inhumanely?
Are you ready to organize in a peaceful manner and begin to push back on these horrors?
When are you going to demand more of others as a human being?
Who is willing to stand up against injustice and make the world a better place?
When is it right to flout international law created after WWII when people stood with absolute resoluteness and said NEVER AGAIN!
Since when is it acceptable to flout hollow patriotism, while ignoring the very principles a country was founded upon ?
Since when it is ok to divide people to seek a hollow political advantage?

Use people as pawns to seek greater power?
When is acceptable to not fight for greater ideals, no matter the short term sacrifices it takes to achieve them?
Since when are you ok with not giving people basic human hygiene or living conditions?

Not for any lack of resources but a conscious decision to create cruel and unusual punishment?
Since when is unacceptable to question people in power for answers?
Since when is it acceptable for private prison systems to profit every day off of the misery of others?
Since when do people accept that is ok for private prison systems to profiteer off of this crisis and citizens hold the migrants more responsible than those that are profiting from it?
Since when did cruelty become a currency to trade with when trying to negotiate a better political deal?
Since when did political blame become an excuse to act morally and justly now?
Are more interested in scoring political points for your base than fixing a problem?

Since when is that leadership?
Is it acceptable to you that rather than act you choose to blame predecessors? Is that action in your eyes?
Does it make you feel good as a human being pointing out the obvious shortcomings of your predecessors as a replacement to do anything now?
Since when is it ok to strip away a person's humanity? No matter what crime of man they committed?

Do you have the right to strip that person of their humanity?
Since when is it unacceptable to ask people around us to be better people?

To not strike out in anger, but look for ways to heal and help.
Since when is unacceptable to demand more of you than was demanded of your ancestors to build a better world?

Since when is sacrifice easy?
Since when it is ok to answer someone who breaks a law with cruelty?

What is the point of having a system of laws?!
Since when is it acceptable for law enforcement to taunt crying children separated from their parents?
Since when is it acceptable to respond to lawlessness with further lawlessness?
Since when is it acceptable to refuse oversight in a democratic system?
Since when it is acceptable to house Mexicans in a camp that used to be a Japanese internment camp?

Since when did it become acceptable to repeat the same mistakes?
Since when is it acceptable to not follow domestic or international law when responding to an asylum seeker?

Why is it ok to claim them as lawless, whilst not following the laws themselves?
When history writes this chapter, are you willing to be comfortable with how history will remember you?
Will your children be proud of your actions or will they be ashamed by them?
Can you honestly look yourself in the mirror and convince yourself that this is right?
When you go to your place of worship, do you imagine this is what God intended you to do to your fellow human?
Are you really ready to be a part of an atrocity to achieve a political end?
Are you so callous and angry that you would do harm to others that are different than you?
When did "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" become a punchline vs. an ideal?
When did it become ok for policy makers fail to answer for the impacts of their policy?
When did it become wrong to apologize when you wronged another?
When did a political blame game become an acceptable replacement for addressing basic human needs?
When did a PR stunt become a replacement for real substantive policy discussions?
When did empty political slogans and expressions become replacement for nuanced discussion and individual thought?
Since when would a leader announce impending law enforcement action en mass putting at risk the target of those raids and the law enforcement agents conducting it?
Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?
Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you
When did people's misery become a spectacle for political gain?
When did people forget the atrocities WW2?
If people are going to dehumanize someone else, why do it from a far using technology and others if they aren't secretly disgusted in what they have done themselves?
When did people not realize "Once you label me, you negate me"?
Since when is right for the US to violate international law instead of enforcing it?
Since when is it acceptable to replace morality and kindness, with self serving political arguments?
Since when is it ok to mock people who would like to make the world better for others?
Since when can’t you have a discussion about Morality without being accused of virtue signalling?
Since when did leaders intimidate the weak and coddle up to evil foreign leaders?

When I grew up this was the reverse.
Since when is it wrong for people to want to watch out for the safety of children, not matter what their age or origin?
