1/7 .@uklabour have appointed JVL member Heather Mendick to ‘build bridges’ with the Jewish community. But most of the Jewish community despise JVL.

Like other JVL members, Mendick also has a history of problematic comments regarding Labour antisemitism
2/7 Mendick’s twitter account was so full of vitriol towards antisemitism campaigners and the Jewish community, that she had to delete her account
3/7 Mendick attacked high profile antisemitism campaigner @RachelRileyRR, libelling her to her employees
4/7 Mendick also:

- is against the IHRA definition of antisemitism, calling it a political plot

- calls antisemitism claims a political plot to prevent criticism of Israel

- supported Chris Williamson, currently suspended for antisemitism
5/7 - defended Pete Willsman, suspended for antisemitism calling it ‘smears’ despite his repeated transgressions dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7…
6/7 JVL are a fringe group of documented antisemites, dedicated to fighting against the Jewish community and normalising antisemitism.

We have also documented their links to the Labour leadership - both Corbyn and McDonnell
7/7 This appointment by @jeremycorbyn is cynical propaganda, designed to silence antisemitism claims while simultaneously insulting the Jewish community.

2/12 Both JVL leader Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi and Co-chair Jenny Manson misled people about not seeing antisemitic abuse in the Labour Party. In fact both had experienced it personally.

1/4 .@uklabour Labour Parliamentary candidate Lisa Forbes liked an antisemitic post, positively commented under another and signed a letter against the IHRA definition of antisemitism. As usual, JVL fully support the perpetrator of antisemitism and denying wrongdoing.
2/4 @jewishlabour took the unusual step of withdrawing their support. Was there solidarity? No, the empty words of the Labour Party are now apparent for all to see. Momentum also supported Parliamentary candiadate Forbes, making a mockery of their antisemitism videos.
3/4 About 50 Labour MPs campaigned for Forbes to become an MP, despite claiming to oppose antisemitism. They are not ‘fighting from within’ by supporting people becoming MPs who have been racist.

.@uklabour 1/11 JVL Co-chair Jenny Manson didn’t just support Peter Willsman’s remarks while on @bbcnews, but also claims that the embassy infiltrated the Labour conference to disrupt it.
2/11 After complaining about antisemitism whistleblowers, Manson said that Peter Willsman:

“criticised the involvement of the israeli embassy, which we know about because of the lobby, in Labour Party politics.”
3/11 “The party conference in 2016 - they were there - because we know they were there. People influenced by the embassy’s decision to try and disrupt the Labour Party”

1) So I went to a different synagogue today and heard from one of the great #Jewish thinkers, leaders, scholars, good souls of our time, Rabbi Joseph Telushkin.

It is hard to overstate his influence but let's just say this was once in a lifetime.

2) Rabbi Telushkin was the scholar-in-residence at Congregation Beth Sholom in Potomac, Maryland. That means he gave multiple talks, Friday night, during services, after services, and again just before Havdalah (ritual ending the Sabbath).

I got to hear two of the talks.
3) Why should you care about this when there are more important things happening in the world?

I would argue that we spend a lot of time talking about the bad actors that have invaded our culture. We should talk about the good ones, more.

#History/#Art thread – From my recent trip to Madurai/Tirunelveli. On Jain sites (some with a rich history dating back to at least the 3rd cent. BCE), early Pandyan rock-cut cave temples (7th-8th cent. CE) & the amazing Vettuvan koil.

Before I start on the places, the history around all this is fascinating & splits opinion. Is it apt to call the script Tamili/Tamil Brahmi? Did it develop independently in the Tamil country/come with the Jain monks from the north? Were 8,000 Jains actually impaled in Madurai?>

Simple way to say, human #History is millions of years old, and measured in the manner of Chaturyuga (4 main yugas/cycles). In due time, the Races of mankind (and/or, genetic make-up) gets diluted, lost, assembled/reassembled, out-mixing (w/other species), unregulated mixing,
etc. & via such phenomena in successive ages. Truly unfathomable to understand, Sat Yuga was of dominant Brahmanas/Rishis (a single homogeneous racial purity/ 12 strand+ DNA), & divisions arose in Treta- 6 main races & various sub-races, interbreeding w/other species & so forth.
The emergence of total white skin(albinism/12K BP) further aggravated the racial dilution few thousand years back(who masterminded this scenario?). Anyway, discerning the present scenario, and learning something out of this mess, it's necessary to connect to the remnants of ...
