1) There is something so diabolically evil about the trajectory of Paul Ryan's career...college paid for by Social Security survivor's benefits, 20+ years on our handsome public payroll, early on, a naive disciple of Ayn Rand, morphing into a Koch Bros. platoon leader...
2) But now, to take a $350K do nothing job at Fox as a reward for his efforts to dismantle the New Deal including the destruction of Social Security and to create a new fascist foundation for the Republican Party is despicable...
3) But what really turns my stomach is his recent, transparent attempt to somehow distance himself from Trump hiding on his front porch in Janesville, Wisconsin just like Jeff Flake in Arizona...the strategy of a coward to embellish his bankrupt legacy. Loser, punk, loser.

1) A shout out to Kentuckians. You are in the bottom rungs when it comes to life expectancy, educational attainment and one out of every 5.5 of you lives in poverty. 250,000 our roughly 25% of your children live in poverty.
2) In Grant County, Kentucky, home of the "Ark Encounter" featuring dinosaurs 2X2 on Noah's life size reconstructed Ark which was funded by $80 M in government approved bonds, teacher salaries are 23% below the national average.
3) Although tobacco now only accounts for 6% of Kentucky's agricultural revenue and coal represents only 4% of its economic production which is used chiefly to fuel power plants, These two products kill millions worldwide.

1) So the NRA is suing its own President Oliver North for double dipping on his salary. He is paid handsomely by the NRA, and its Ad Agency for 30 years. Wayne LaPierre, NRA CEO also claims North is black mailing him over sex harassment claims, clothing expenditures, etc.
2) Both LaPierre and North earn over a $1M a year and LaPierre earned $5M in 2015. Now take it easy boys. There is plenty of mother's milk coming from the sucker members of the NRA and you don't have to fight over teats. Just keep sucking and let bygones be bygones?
3) I'll tweet this again. If you employ an NRA member, get rid of him or her. If you are dating one or married to one...ditto. If you have a child who is a member, get him to a counselor if it is not too late. This organization is pure evil. The NRA needs to go the way of the KKK

1)Thread: I have been tweeting daily since April of 2017 calling for the resignation of Donald J. Trump. It has been a challenge because of my travels often to remote places but many of you have met my humble request & retweeted the same call. Thank you all ever so much.
2) But now it is time to do more. Economic boycotts work. We don't have to beat our chests and scream about it. We just have to alter our lifestyle and as a former CEO I can tell you any impact on the bottom line from a boycott matters.
3) And long after the tyrant is removed from office, we must continue to the boycotts. Our challenges are many and Trump and his enabling thugs are just one of them. We need to undo their damage and see to it that this tragedy is never repeated. We need to keep boycotting!

@vjeannek 3/ Things like subpoena power being singular, in other words not needing an agreement of committee leaders. If one side wants to subpoena witnesses they should be able to and the other side not block them by failing to agree.

It’s the Green New Deal, not the New Green Deal, though.

The sustainability part is *meant* to be a framing device and rationale for the social programs. Maybe it’s overambitious and fuzzy or impractical in some areas, but isn’t that how major legislative campaigns always begin?
Regarding paying for the #GreenNewDeal: Tax carbon. Tax the rich. Take an equity bite out of startups that the program invests in. There‘ll need to be rightsizing, but it’s not more improbable to make work than was the first New Deal, which cost about 1% of our GDP over 8 years.
The cost for the combined programs has been pegged at $40 trillion. But $32 trillion of that is Medicare For All, which if we carve off, leaves $8 trillion for the core GND (including job guarantees, student loan forgiveness, free college, paid leave & Social Security expansion).

By way of background: when the shutdown ended last month, McConnell promised an open Senate floor debate on DACA protections after Feb 8 *if the government is still open by then.*
Rs really don't like the idea of voting on Dreamer protections, because they divide their caucus and unite ours. If a vote must happen, R strategy is to pair DACA with nasty xenophobic provisions that can bring some of their right flank on board.
