Renowned historian Dinesh D’Souza claims that John Lewis—who had his head bashed in while marching for civil rights in Selma in 1965—is “a proud member of the party of slavery, segregation & lynching.”

English needs new words; “repulsed” & “disgusted” are too mild for this one.
Dinesh D’Souza denies the historical reality of the party switch that took place during and after Democratic President LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act, and got hopping mad at me recently for this thread in which I laid out the party switch:
Some on the left have made comments like this about John Lewis, too. When Lewis endorsed Hillary Clinton instead of Bernie Sanders in 2016, I saw hundreds of angry “progressive” tweets calling him an “Uncle Tom” & “house n***er.” That, too, needed a better word than “disgusting.”
I’m totally being sarcastic about Dinesh D’Souza being a renowned historian, btw. He’s a grifter, a conspiracy theorist, and a Trump-pardoned felon who plead guilty to campaign finance fraud.
