On lunch recess. Then crime scene tech H.-Rogers was state's witness. Testified that she walked through scene w/ Det Boyd (FIT) starting from wreck at Belvedere and Pk Hghts. Started at Ravens book bag.
Got to scene of police-involved shooting to process last. Took pics of suspect weapon in original position and took 2nd group of pics in different location on top of craft paper on top of mechanics tool cabinet.
Saw ridge detail from blood when weapon was turned over.
Defense X addressed that pics of weapon were last to be take that day. Also established that weapon wasn't rendered safe and that it was empty.
Is defense trying to establish that weapon wasn't safe because police knew it was empty (drop gun)?
Defense presented Ex 38 which goes upto FFFF. Some so how photos of spectators who were never canvassed. Ex 38 R shows photos of cones laid out before arrival of crime scene tech.
Biggie: craft paper that crime scene tech laid fire arm and magazine on had suspected blood on it.
State tried to salvage crime scene processing in redirect. Possible unforced error: state asked if it was possible that crime scene tech could have missed .22 shell casing. Witness answered yes. Might bring GSR (or lack there of) found on defendant or weapon.
