I finished reading Ronica's TCPA motion.

Please don't defend Vic if you haven't read this.

I skipped the depositions and articles I'd already read, but I otherwise read every word. I fixed the sideways pages and put it on my drive, if anyone wants that.

I went into this with a lot of excitement because I knew it was going to destroy whatever sliver of a case Vic had left. It absolutely did, but it left me feeling emotionally drained. This is a truly terrible document. It's even worse if you know how many stories got left out.
These emails between Vic and @MicheleSpecht hurt so much to read. We all knew how much she must have suffered, but to see it laid out like this—and for him to try to deny her the right to tell her story in the end—is just the nail in his coffin. What a reprehensible human being.
Those emails are from months before #KickVic started. Vic didn't deny any of it. He acknowledged, here and in his deposition and to io9, that he had failed her. I'm extremely sorry for what she went through, and so grateful that she was willing to share her pain with the world.
Shame on Chuck Huber for trying to intimidate @MonicaRial & @marchimark into recanting their public statements. Without those statements, Vic would never have been held accountable for literal decades of predation. We owe them so much for speaking out and sticking to their guns.
We owe a huge thanks to @JessiePridemore for sticking her neck out first. Her ensuing harassment almost certainly encouraged Monica & Jamie to speak out. Together they validated years of testimony from the powerless. Now @karaedwards has added her name. I can't thank them enough.
Huge thanks to @MichellMcC73 for letting us know he has been doing this since the 1980s. Thanks to @SharonB89188965 for adding to that. Huge thanks to @_maryados_ for showing us what grooming looks like. Thanks to @ljmontello for telling us about Mari Iijima, among other things.
Thanks to @greg_doucette for doing so much to shine a light on the grift machine that is fueling this nightmare and for putting an end to the gaslighting for everyone who has been harassed. We are immune to it now, thanks to #lawtwitter and the #Threadnought. This is priceless.
Thank you to @RonToye for supporting Monica and enduring your own abuse. Thanks to @VoiceOfVegeta, @SeanSchemmel, @JoshMartinVoice, @ragercoaster, @DamanMills, @MrJasonDouglas, and anyone else who has been an ally to these women in the face of antagonism from their own fans.
All of you have sacrificed so much. It doesn't take much wit to know that this is never going to go away for any of you. I wish it were different. I wish @vicmignogna hadn't forced his victims to rip the anime fandom apart to put an end to his abuses. But he did, and here we are.
Vic was warned so many times that he was hosting "rumors" panels and dropping random soliloquies about "silence is consent". The menace is only ending bc the people who knew him best were willing to risk their own livelihoods to call him out for it. We should never forget that.
PS: apologies for tagging @MonicaRial above. I meant to tag @Rialisms, obviously. It has been a long day. We've been looking forward to it so much and it was just devastating. And Monica and the others have been carrying the burden of these stories alone for a long time. ❤️
Jamie Marchi's TCPA was also filed yesterday. That and other docs are available on my Drive. I also made a folder with some Nick clips because people keep trying to use my Twitter uploads while arguing with people I have blocked. They can't see my tweets.

I'll make the above my pinned tweet so that it's easy for people to find. If you have problems accessing the Drive, please let me know.

Marchi's TCPA is extremely simple because Vic's case against her is truly nonexistent.
I think we all want it to end, but it's worth reiterating that Vic forced this. He was warned for years. He knew his behavior was a problem and he kept doing it anyway. Nick Rekieta and all the YT trashtubers share in the "drama" responsibility, too.

Don't even for one second think about blaming Vic's victims for this drama. They had no choice. They had to speak up or it would never end. Before you trivialize their specific experiences, remember they are speaking for everyone else, too. That is their burden and their triumph.
They are speaking for the girls who were groomed from a young age. They are speaking for women who have even less power than they did. They have a right to speak their truth. Don't criticize them for "handling it badly". They have handled it better than we have a right to expect.
"Her witness" had no recollection because he wasn't her witness. She never claimed he witnessed her assault. She only claimed he stopped it, rather inadvertently, by knocking on the door. She never claimed to have told him about the assault, either.
I just realized I was wrong about this. For some reason I thought their emails were from 2018, probably because that was when the split happened, but they're from 2019. I was wondering why she would wait a year to break up with him after knowing all this.
