Political attack campaigns have a place - every party does them. But it’s worrying that the current Labour Party seems most comfortable when it’s striking out, calling others enemies, defining good vs evil (and guess who’s always on the side of good...)
One of the things which worries me most about Labour is how it responds to criticism - generally lashing out, attacking the messenger and an almost total lack of self-awareness. Forget politics for a moment - no institution can succeed with that approach in the long term
Super ironically the sinister ‘secret files on Jo Swinson’ video reminds me of this nasty attack video made by Israeli right wingers against human rights leaders m.jpost.com/Israel-News/Is…
I sometimes try and extrapolate what Labour’s approach would look like from a governing party. Legitimate criticism of a policy or bill would be ‘politically motivated attacks’, ‘smears’, ‘predictable attacks by our enemies’. It’s worrying - and will lead to bad policies
