Nadler: “Did you totally exonerate the President?”
Mueller: “No.”

Nadler: “Did the President refuse to be interviewed by you and your team?”
Mueller: “Yes.”

“That is not what the report said,” Robert Mueller says when asked if the Mueller report says that the president did not commit obstruction of justice as President Trump has repeatedly claimed.

Lieu: “The reason... you did not indict Donald Trump is because of OLC opinion stating that you cannot indict a sitting president, correct?”

Mueller: “That is correct.”

Demings: “Lies by Trump campaign officials and administration officials impeded your investigation.”

Mueller: “I would generally agree with that.”

Richmond: “So it's fair to say that the president tried to protect himself by asking staff to falsify records relevant to an ongoing investigation?”

Mueller: “I would say that's generally a summary.”

Buck: “Could you charge the president with a crime after he left office?”

Mueller: “Yes.”

Buck: “You could charge the President of the United States with obstruction of justice after he left office?”

Mueller: “Yes.”

Schiff: “Your investigation is not a witch hunt, is it?”

Mueller: “It is not a witch hunt.”

Schiff: “When the president said the Russian interference was a hoax, that was false, wasn't it?”

Mueller: “True.”

Schiff: “The Trump campaign officials built their messaging strategy around those stolen documents?”

Mueller: “Generally, that's true.”

Schiff: “And then they lied to cover it up?”

Mueller: “Generally, that's true.”

Himes: “Which presidential candidate was Russia's hacking-and-dumping scheme intended to benefit?”

Mueller: “Mr. Trump.”

Carson: “It’s clear [Manafort] hoped to be paid back money he was owed by Russian or Ukrainian oligarchs in return for the passage of private campaign information.”

Mueller: “That is true.”

Hurd: “Did you think that this was a single attempt by the Russians to get involved in our election?”

Mueller: “It wasn't a single attempt. They're doing it as we sit here. And they expect to do it during the next campaign.”

Mueller: “We negotiated with [Trump] for a year... but finally after little success, we finally decided we didn't want to exercise subpoena powers because we wanted to expedite the end of the investigation.”

Schiff: “I gather that you believe that knowingly accepting foreign assistance during a presidential campaign is an unethical thing to do?”

Mueller: “And a crime.”

Schiff: “We can agree that it’s also unpatriotic, and wrong?”

Mueller: “True.”
