No, my cats are not outdoors. That wire you see all around them? That's literally ALL around them. My upstairs deck has been screened in to provide them with a safe #WildlifeApproved space to enjoy fresh air and OMG BIRDS. It's called a catio.
No, I didn't build it myself. No one who knows me in fleshspace trusts me with a hammer, much less a major construction project. My catio was built by catiospaces.com, a local Seattle company that also sells blueprints and catio kits.
Yes, it's a permanent part of the house. Amusingly, the stability baffles installed to keep the cats from going MAXIMUM TALL and escaping over the wire have actually made my deck more stable. So the catio is a net win for the whole structure.
Yes, this was paid for by my Patreon, because my cats are the most important things in my world, and this was a way to keep their world safe while also making it a little bit bigger.
