this fact has been rattling around my mind all morning. the confederate statue that greets all those who enter the albemarle county courthouse was placed there in part by a prosecutor who publicly supported the brutal extrajudicial killing of a black man.
you cannot enter the albemarle county courthouse without being confronted by a looming reminder that the justice being served inside is not impartial. not then and not now.
for two years people have asked, why did the klan & the nazis come to charlottesville?

this feel good copaganda shit is straight up cruel. people are scared of cops because routine traffic stops sometimes result in cops just straight up fucking murdering innocent people.

leave the people alone.
also, pulling someone over without a valid legal reason seems like a blatant abuse of authority & violation of civil rights. maybe don’t do this.
can’t wait for this cool fun community outreach effort by these officers to result in someone getting shot or deported! very cool, officers! maybe cultivate community good will in a way that isn’t a civil rights violation.

i’m digitizing some old notes while i wait for my car at the shop this morning & back in april, when a neoconfederate threw a pen in the direction of judge moore, leading to a contempt conviction, he said he’d “only ever held 3 or 4 people in contempt” in his time on the bench.
i think judge moore has only been a judge for... 6 years maybe? still, if he’s only held 3 or 4 people in contempt and i’ve personally witnessed two of those in the last 8 months, i wonder who the other one or two were?
going over my notes is such a strange experience. i transcribe everything i can, even facts i already know, recaps of court documents i already have, what the room feels like, the judge’s sighs & body language, to capture the entirety of the experience of a hearing.

antifascists protect our communities, pass it on.
i think there is some confusion, even among comrades, about what antifascism is. antifascism isn’t a black bloc. black bloc is a tactic. antifascism is an ideology. it looks a lot of different ways. you may not even realize you’re looking at it.
where i live, antifascism is a group of moms in my community standing up to the school board, even after facing brutal police violence and arrests, demanding that children be protected from racial harassment at school.

#Fact 1 - The Wage Gap is real. People who says it's not haven't read the data.

However, in places like the USA, the wage gap is *not* mostly due to sexism like many #femnist #WomenInScience are claiming it is today. Disparate outcomes doesn't imply disparate treatment.
Women typically choose fields that are lower paying; even in the #STEM fields. To attribute that to sexism only or even mostly is a very dishonest way of deriving an answer for this complex disparity.
