So here's a thread to elaborate further on the business idea quoted.

Students are either on holiday or will be soon.

The target audience is kids 6 - 15.

The people you should market to are their parents. Kids don't have any money to spend. Not enough that matters anyway.
So the deal is this: You run a boot camp for kids 6 - 15.

You can teach:

Music instruments
Personal Finance
Religion (yes someone I know does this one)
Cooking

And this one I think will even resonate more with parents...

Programming/Coding classes

Depending on what you're...
teaching, your class can be completed in 1-2 days or spread over 2-3 weeks.

You have to understand parents want to keep their kids occupied for as long as they can.Children are a handful.

You need to choose a convenient (to parents) venue. You need to arrange for solid security
You may need to arrange transportation to and fro too. This makes it even convenient for the parents.

You Nedd to arrange reading and study materials for what you're teaching.

You want to arrange it so well, next time, parents sign up in a heart beat.

What sort of venue can...
you use?

You can hire a school hall. No money? Approach a decent school, and arrange a joint venture where they get a percentage of your sales in exchange for their hall.

Or you go to estate around and hire their park. You can also do this joint venture. Or hire an event place.
For security, arrange for mobile policemen to accompany rides to/from and at the venue. Also a couple of bouncers. Parents won't hand their kids to you, a stranger, without some sort of assurance.

It'll also help if you get a Police report vouching for who you are to show them.
Now marketing.

How do you market? You can go house to house in your area and talk to parents, but you need to be good at sales, plus its tedious, plus your area is too small a sample size.

You need numbers to make this work, decent numbers.

So what you do is advertise. Where?
Advertise on Google, Facebook, Instagram. Facebook for example is a beaut. It allows you target people in an area, by marital status, number of children they have and their ages, sick!

So for example you can target WOMEN who are MARRIED, with children 6-12 YEARS OLD, who live...
in Victoria Island, Lekki, Ikoyi, and went to University. And yes, you can target this area and host it there, even if you live in Ajangbadi.

Why do I say target WOMEN? Well who do you think makes the financial decisions about their children in the home? Women do! Always talk...
the decision maker.

You can also do flyers and distribute them in the biggest Churches in these area. Heck you can even do a joint venture with the churches, and pay them a % per person that registers from their congregation. They're always wanting money. They need to actually.
But for God's sake don't design flyers the horrible way Nigerians design them. I have a formula for doing it but it's a trade secret. But here are some pointers, lose the stupid images at the top that take half the flyer space. Use an attention grabbing headline. Create an...
irresistible offer.

In fact, my suggestion is to build out a website, in direct marketing fashion, not the online billboards web design firms build. You want a website that sell your bootcamp directly so visitors grasp your message immediately they land on it and leads them...
seamlessly to the sale. In my industry we call it an "online sales funnel".

You sales funnel must flow like you're eating amala ati ewedu, easily down the throat, no stress.

There are 2 online sales funnel flows you can use for promoting your bootcamp via ads.

Here they are:
Advert (on Facebook, Instagram Google) ==> Website (page must sell the bootcamp effectively, with a deadline for signing up ==> Payment Page (Paystack) or your bank details (use a corporate account).

Also have a 📞 number they can call and please pick up when they do.

OR...
*This one is a bit complex but it will convert better I believe.*

Advert (on Facebook, Instagram, Google) ==> Website (page must sell the bootcamp effectively and offer a discount if they schedule a call with you to duscuss the bootcamp. Also place pixels here) ==> Payment Page.
Then you should retarget viewers who didn't purchase. The pixel you place will make this possible.

Also, why schedule a call?

Because it creates and furthers belief. Mothers will want to get a feel for the people who are asking to keep their children for a number of days and...
it gives you an opportunity to sell them on the bootcamp by explaining a lot of things they might have missed on the page and reassure them. And you can hear any objections and questions they have and answer it immediately, and also use it to refine your website.

Like I said...
you need to be good at sales to sell effectively on the phone. If you aren't, use the first funnel style. If you aren't, also start learning. Sales is life.

Also when you design your flyers, don't sell from the flyer, put the link to the website in bold, so they can go there...
and read all of your marketing content. Your flyer is not enough to sell unless you've got a really big flyer anyway. Like I said, lose the images on your flyer or add it in such a way that it doesn't take centre stage and distract from your sales/marketing message.

Next is...
Pricing.

How much should you charge?

Depends. You should charge more in the Ikoyi/Lekki/V.I/Maitama/Garki/Independence Layout/Port-Harcourt GRA axis as they can afford more and slightly lesser in Festac/Nike/Kubwa/Woji.

But an example is =N=20,000 per child, =N=30,000 for...
two children, =N=50,000 for three, and =N65,000 for four, so long as all the children are from the same home.

Your marginal cost per addition so you can discount it. But make the discount time bound with an expiry date.

So the math well and factor in all your costs before...
you determine what to charge.

Finally, host a damn freaking fun bootcamp. Seperate the kids into similar age groups, 6-10 and 11-15.

Have rules - no bullying or you expel them without a refund, no exception, even if it's your sisters child.

Make it so fun, the kids want...
to come back everyday and rave about it to their parents.

Also plan for refreshments/food if you can. Remember the more things you add, the higher you cost will be and the more you need to charge.

And you don't need to be versed in anything you're teaching. Hire people who are.
Someone I know does this every school holiday, 3 camps each year. She tells me she makes around =N=9 million each year in profit after expenses. Not shabby.

So there you have it If I think of anything else, I'll add to this thread.

Enjoy. More importantly, TAKE ACTION.

Selah.
