Like to join a citizens' driven campaign: My Healthcare, My Right? Pls read on:
Nigeria’s general hospitals are mostly populated with outdated facilities and equipment, due largely to corruption. This has denied citizens' access to the highest attainable standard of health
Our recent Corruption Performance Survey ranks the health sector among the 5 corrupt agencies in Nigeria. Also, our report titled ‘Failing Healthcare’ shows how general hospitals are letting down the poor and making healthcare in Nigeria a privilege rather than a right.
There are twenty-one (21) federal teaching hospitals, twenty (20) FMCs and thirteen (13) specialty hospitals spread across the federation. State government-owned teaching and general hospitals and local government owned dispensaries are also among the public healthcare system.
SERAP has therefore started a national campaign titled My Healthcare, My Right, which is a citizens’ driven initiative to monitor the conditions of general hospitals across the country and to ensure that our hospitals are run as effectively as possible, devoid of corruption
Details on the operation of the campaign shortly but please indicate if you would like to be a member of the campaign My Healthcare, My Right, by simply stating “I agree.”
We’ll then get in touch with you on the modalities and operations of the campaign.
