Different Twitter mob, but with the same indifference toward the confirmable facts.

There was never any real danger that the Chicago police were going to break down my door (or even pay a visit) over a complaint like that, but in the end, we're left with the fact that your crowd tried to swat me, because I didn't feed their egos.

@shadowsminder @frankieonye @AGramuglia @AshleyWhy__ When I was little, Dad and a friend of his had a question to ask in a forum for writers. They had reasons to suspect that a small publishing company was on the verge of going out of business, and they were wondering how to tell if that was true.

@shadowsminder @frankieonye @AGramuglia @AshleyWhy__ They didn't want to go off half cocked, and accidentally pass along a false rumor that could turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The false rumor of an impending bankruptcy can cause a panic that will lead to a real bankruptcy.

@shadowsminder @frankieonye @AGramuglia @AshleyWhy__ They didn't want to mess with somebody's livelihood, so they asked a group of established writers, people who would supposedly have had some experience dealing with this sort of problem, how one would look into such things.

@shadowsminder @frankieonye @AGramuglia @AshleyWhy__ Some writers from that same collection of genres responded to that reasonable, responsibly asked question by creating drama, trying to bully my dad and his friend into publicly naming the company.

@shadowsminder @frankieonye @AGramuglia @AshleyWhy__ Fifteen years later, one of the ringleaders was still at it, trying to get Dad thrown out of his favorite coffeehouse, a place he's been going to since he was a kid, himself. A place he's taken us.

The look on her face as the proprietor threw her out, instead, was priceless.

Middle age had taught her nothing about maturity.

@shadowsminder @frankieonye @AGramuglia @AshleyWhy__ There's a term that in real life, I rarely have a need for, but when dealing with fantasy, romance and erotica writers (and Twitter users) I have to use with tiresome frequency, because it fits:

Narcissism. That, and sociopath, psychopath and borderline personality disorder.

In the general population, it's rare. With you guys, it's an everyday thing.

Walking away is the only sane choice.

Amina Leeds complained that her characters were getting away from her, diving straight into sex in a repetitive manner, when the plot should have taken them somewhere else.

There's the problem, according to Amina Leeds, herself.

@shadowsminder @frankieonye @AGramuglia @AshleyWhy__ The guy you're targeting pointed out that our characters have no lives or will of their own. That they're just projections of the writer's own subconscious, so if the characters kept doing something that they ought not, that this spoke to the presence of an unresolved issue.

Figure out that issue and resolve it, and the creative block would go away on its own, he said.

It starred David Carradine, and was about a half-Chinese martial artist who met and beat up bigots in the Old West.

One doesn't much blander than ABC, but you guys still couldn't handle it. Unbelievable.

He very well might. Somebody (I'm sure I don't know who) told him about this wonderful piece of software called "Block Chain" and another called "Block Together."

@shadowsminder @frankieonye @AGramuglia @AshleyWhy__ Taken together, with the help of a few friends with Twitter account, they offer a wonderful way of dealing with people who try to pull the s.hit you guys pulled, back in March.

Not only will you get blocked, but so will all of your followers. Dogpiling over.

The determined troll will left fending for himself, with no mob for support. They don't tend to like that very much.
