Why would any country, on purpose, round up immigrants who voluntarily chose to work in chicken shit infested chicken farms? They work in 100+ degrees tin can warehouses with chicken shot EVERYWHERE, 12 hour days at minimum, below minimum wage?
Why?
this detention/deportation machine has been costing us $12 billion a year since trump became president.
$12 Billion.
To put $12 billion in perspective:
If 1 second is a dollar, $12 billion is 380 years.
I feel like I need to clarify how horrible it is to work in a chicken farm.
Did any of you drive behind a truck transporting live chicken before? how was the smell?

Just want to be crystal clear about a couple of things regarding the ACLU and 40+ civil rights groups' call on @amazon to stop selling facial recognition technology to cops:
1. If we don't stop its rollout nationwide, this technology will inevitably be used by the worst people (think Trump and his supporters) to do the worst things (think round up immigrants).
2. Proponents of authoritarian systems of control (and this is that) always say we need to use these systems to protect children and to stop terrorists. Have we not now, 17 years after 9/11, learned that authoritarian surveillance doesn't keep us safe?

1. The new budget passed by Congress is a massive loss for Trump, and a successful defense of sensible priorities by Congress. It's not perfect. It contains some terrible speech and privacy acts. But it demonstrates how toothless Trump's threats are. A brief thread.
2. First, recall that Trump's proposed budget would have gutted the EPA, State Department, Interior, Education priorities like Head Start, and more. It included funding for his proposed "border wall". He got basically none of this. washingtonpost.com/graphics/2018/…
