Ted Cruz's 'antifa are terrorists' bill refers to antifa, "affiliated with antifa" & "left-wing activists" interchangeably. Antifa is not an org & therefore has no membership, which means the .gov conjures the supposed boundaries of what constitutes membership for legal purposes.
People on the right are calling the Dayton shooter "antifa affiliated" because of some tweets and reweets, without any evidence of him being involved in antifascist activism or organizing. Imagine how easily affiliations will be assigned if the GOP gets new laws to play with.
And with Cuomo, a Democrat, pushing for a mental illness database, we are reminded that there are Dems who, due to either malice or mediocrity, or both, are ready to serve us up to Trump on a platter.
When Trump talks about preemptive commitment for mentally ill people who supposedly pose a threat, and about law enforcement monitoring social media to detect those threatening people, he is not talking about his supporters.
How many activists and writers who hate Trump do you know who have been open about their struggles with mental illness? How many of them are Black or brown? How many of them have been vocal about Trump's fascism or made statements in support of antifascist organizing?
If y'all aren't careful, the GOP will weaponize your outrage about these attacks and your desire for gun reform to hurt the very people Trump and his fans have already stigmatized and victimized. We cannot allow those people to frame ANYTHING about this.

The FBI, which was a racist organization long before Trump came along, will use any expanded power to target marginalized groups. The FBI may hate Trump, but he has already led them to lay off of white supremacists & they are big on fucking w activists. truthout.org/articles/how-t… 
People who oppose Trump are scolded for interrupting fascists while they eat dinner & for protesting outside the homes of ppl who help kidnap, cage & terrorize children. Trump rallies his fans to commit violence & calling him a white supremacist is considered bold or even extreme
