dear millennials tantruming about this tweet, pointing out that shit’s been bad long before you came on the scene doesn’t diminish your experience. it provides a historical perspective that’s often overlooked, especially as being overlooked is basically what gen x’s all about

because women’s healthcare isn’t marginalized enough already
how bad is women’s healthcare? well, i’m currently taking a medication off-label for debilitating endometriosis pain that’s used (also off-label) to prevent pre-term labor. it’s on-label use? to help people (read: men) with chest pain exercise longer.
i cannot imagine the world in which a medication is made specifically for my medical needs, let alone one where there’s meds that cater to lifestyle inconveniences, like wanting to exercise longer.

anyhow, women are going to suffer and die. even more than we already do.

@TaritaC @neeratanden @Scrapmom223 for me personally, a mob of angry men screamed “C*NT!!!” at me, the only HRC delegate, as an overflow crowd of *more* angry men were outside, making me question whether or not voting is worth violence (it is).

Becoming aware of what one wishes to #experience interpersonally is a great first step to feeling:

Next, try and become aware of what you did and said as well as what the other person did or said in response.

Notice the responses of yourself and the other person. Is what you wished for what happened? If not, maybe there is a pattern that can explain recurrent negativity.
To figure out what the wish guiding your patterns of relating to others might be, consider the response of the other person. Were they:
Antagonistic
Controlling
Detaching
Subservient
Sometimes responses of others can inform our awareness of our unconscious or #implicit motives.

I am easily the most politically conservative person under 70 years old that I know in my field of training, at my degree level.

That would be as an M.S. in Entomology.

Yet, I am not overall highly right-wing.

A thread.
1. I believe that climate change is happening and is driven by fossil fuel combustion. My approach to remediation involves nuclear energy, often disliked by Californians, Democrats & liberals.

2. I don't watch Fox News.

3. Kids and adults need to be up-to-date on vaccines.
4. More specific to my field, I believe that pesticide use needs to be limited using IPM and IVM. Details elsewhere.

5. I am not particularly religious. I don't support the Religious Right.

6. I strongly believe in conservation of natural areas.
