Small #Hankcon thread for Connor's birthday! And I'm purposely making this short, because I *know* I'll go on a tangent.

It's Connor's Birthday. Not 'activation' day, as he likes to correct Hank. No, it's his birthday. He's not a machine anymore. So no 'activation' even if its
'politically correct.' No, it's Connor's birthday, and that's final.

Hank has been planning this for months. With Connor being deviant, it's time to show him some sights. He's already seen the city, so why not go out into the wilderness? He rents a cabin for two weeks and
makes sure its pet friendly, so that Sumo can come along. He makes sure the area has somewhat decent cell/Internet service too. He's not sure what would happen to Connor, if he was suddenly taken to a 'dead zone.' Not a good way to spend a birthday for sure. Best not to risk it.
Connor is estatic. He's excited, and Hank is pretty sure he doesn't even know that its for his birthday. They pack up, and head on out for the mountains. Connor's wide-eyed stare, as they get further and further away from the city just warms Hank's heart.

After stopping a few
times (for Sumo), they finally arrive. The air is cleaner, the breeze a little cooler. But the cabin is gorgeous. It's a lakefront cabin, and it's two stories tall, with a finished basement, and a hot tub on one of the balconies. They can easily see the clouds and fog rolling
in from the mountains, from their cabin. Connor can't help but just stare in wonder and awe...leaving Hank to drag their luggage inside. But Hank doesn't mind. Once everything is in, he goes to Connor's side on the balcony, and notices he's crying. He's so overwhelmed by the
beauty of it all, that he can't keep his emotions in check. Hank holds him and kisses the tears away. He's very happy that Connor loves it. And they still have the rest of the two weeks to go, as well.

They go fishing on some days, and even swim in the lake. They rent a boat and
go out into the middle of it, during the night, and just lay down, counting the stars. When it rains, they enjoy the hot tub on the covered balcony, and relax against one another, as they watch the storm roll in, across the mountains. On the sunnier days, they go down the
mountain and hit the small town down below. It's an old, antique sort of town, but it has such a lovely charm to it. They hit all the stores they can, from little bakeries, to comic stores, to antique stores, and even a pet store. They buy quite a bit, and end up having to
jerry-rig a few bags onto Sumo, who doesn't mind the extra load. They only have to go into a bigger town a handful of times, so they can visit the grocery store for food and supplies. But the rest of the time, they're up in the cabin, enjoying nature and each other.
Good thing about it being in the middle of nowhere, with no one around... No one can complain of the noises of pleasure coming from the cabin (or the balcony or boat), as the two enjoy some sensual fun, as well.

Connor's birthday arrives halfway through their stay. Hank has
everything planned out. They start early, going to a horse trail, where they ride horses (actual horses, not android ones) through a trail through the forest. They see a waterfall, a family of deer, and a few foxes. After that, they get lunch at a small cafe in town, before doing
more shopping. Hank lets Connor pick out what he wants. After shopping is done, they head further into the mountains, where a large dog rescue place resides. Connor practically cries, as he's buried by all the dogs and puppies that come rushing up to him. He helps out a little
as well, helping the volunteers with feeding the dogs, and even handfeeding a few puppies. It's very hard to take Connor away from this rescue, but his birthday day isn't quite done yet.

They go to a mountainside restaurant for supper, eating by romantic candlelight, as they
get a gorgeous view of the scenery. They return to the cabin, as night falls. After taking care of Sumo, and putting away the shopping and leftovers, they go out onto the balcony, where Hank turns on some old jazz on his phone, and the two slow dance along the hardwood,
eventually moving out towards the lake. They get into the boat, and paddle it towards the middle. The part Hank didn't plan, was for all the fireflies that suddenly started appearing. One landed on Connor's nose, surprising him. Hank takes a quick picture, before the bug flies
away.

The two stay in the boat, enjoying the fireflies and stars above. Connor sits, leaning against Hank, as Hank holds him against his chest, kissing at his head and neck every so often, whispering sweet, lovely nothings to him.

'I got one more gift for you, Connor.'
They situate themselves, so that they're facing each other. Hank goes into his pocket, though he says a few things, first.
'I love you, Connor. So much. You mean the world to me. And that might not mean too much, comin' from an old man like myself... But you've changed my life.
These past few years have flown by, but I cherish each one I had with you. I cherish the days we work together on cases, I cherish the days we laze about at home. I cherish our make ups, after we've had spats. And I cherish our nights together in bed, whether we're sleeping or...
y'know. Doing...other things.'

They both blush and chuckle at that.

'You're my world, Con. You mean everything to me. And...I know this is cheesy, doing this on your birthday and everything, but...'

As best he can, Hank gets down on one knee in the boat, bringing out a small
box, and opening it. Inside is a resin wood ring, with a blue jewel made into the band (picture in another tweet). It almost seems to glow in the moonlight. It was made by one of the artisans they visited, when they were in town.

Connor is speechless.
'Connor...will you marry me? And continue being my world, through sickness and in health? For richer or poorer? Until--'

Hank doesn't even finish, before Connor gives a resounding yes, as he launches himself into Hank's arms, kissing him lovingly, as he hugs him tightly.
...The rough action, however, causes the boat to rock, and eventually roll over, sending both of them into the water. But the boat ended up rolling over a few fireflies, trapping them underneath. They both come up under the boat, to the dim light of the fireflies, completely
soaked. Hank still has the box, with the ring in it, in his hand. They look at each other, and just laugh. Hank puts the ring on Connor's finger. It's a perfect fit.

They share a loving kiss under the overturned boat, before the chill of the water forces them back to the cabin.
THANKS FOR READING, AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNOR!! MAY YOU GET ALL THE LOVE TODAY!

Also, the ring I mentioned! I imagine it to be something like this? But you're free to interpret it as you wish! ouo
