Meaningless bluster in the absence of any proposals put forward by the U.K. government to replace the backstop.
It isn’t “I’ll gnaw my own leg off if you don’t give me what I want.” It’s “I’ll gnaw my own leg off if you don’t come up with something that I want.”
Or, rather, “I’ll gnaw my own leg off if you don’t come up with something that he is happy to vote for.”
