After the #OdessaShooting just like every other we will see a lot of performative masculinity from men pretending they don't care about a baby shot in the face. They are broken men who do not know how to access their emotions, so they perform the role of heartless thug
They will sputter nonsense about good guys and guns and rattle off some unimportant minutia about what is and is not an assault rifle as though knowing that makes a man rather than being fully human and giving a damn.
This performance of masculinity deifies the almighty rifle as the ultimate expression of American freedom - as though you can't be a real American unless you want to kill people. They talk about the 2nd Amendment as protecting freedom, but whose freedom?
Not the freedom of the people killed and wounded today. Not the freedom of that infant who lost both parents in El Paso. The abuse of the 2nd Amendment by Congress & the NRA takes away freedom from all of us.
These broken people are more attached to their guns than their children whom they offer up as sacrifices to the gun lobby. Unfortunately, they offer up other people's children, too. The frequency of children dying in him accidents is further proof they love guns more.
There are responsible gun owners. You won't see them posturing here. They want background checks & gun safety classes before licensing. Regulation is part of responsibility. These frightened people who oppose sensible regulation are irresponsible.
It doesn't matter what measures they take to handle their gun safely. They endanger us all because they fear the fellow Americans so much they want armed guards at churches and schools. They are the problem because they don't know how to just be without a gun.
Remember, they are <10% of the population. They scream louder and the merchants and manufacturers buy Republican indifference, but they are broken people. The % of Americans who are ammosexuals is about the same as the % who are rapists. Politicians don't cater to them
