Just want to make clear that I will always cheer for the animal in “gaming hunter tragically killed” news stories.
If the animal couldn’t shoot back and still managed to kill your sloppy ass, why wouldn’t I cheer for that?
Bonus if it’s a matador that’s been gored before they can slowly stab a bull to death. That’s just delicious karma right there.

I've been in conservative areas throughout the country over the past few months, and although anti-trans discrimination is pervasive, there are a lot of lovely cisgender folks out there who may not be familiar with trans people but treat us with affirmation and dignity anyway.
I never know where the line should get drawn between behavior that should be expected and behavior that should be praised when it comes to cis folks, but I have a hunch that telling those positive stories more often is a net good and effectively fights anti-trans narratives.
It also just feels good and at the risk of sounding too soft with these things, I really think we all need to reminded more often that goodness exists everywhere you look, lest we forget that goodness exists, which seems too easy to do these days.

In the United States, a person does not have the right to randomly get in a car and do whatever the hell they want it. For starters, there are a hell of a lot of traffic rules no matter where you live. You must obey these. They are seen as common sense. (thread)
For example, even if you approach an empty intersection w/ no one for miles around, you must stop at red. Every time. This is universally accepted. There is no national debate on whether or not someone should stop at a red light. You don’t assume you won’t hurt someone. You stop.
Everyone has blown a red light in their lifetime, sure, but when you get a ticket for doing so, you accept it. Again: common sense. Same for turn signals, switching lanes, speed limits, proximity to other vehicles, respect for road signs etc. etc. etc.

First, I wish Maajid Nawaz a swift recovery and all the best.

We should absolutely condemn violence and racism in all its forms.

2/ I have tremendous respect for Maajid and have interviewed him in the past.

I want to make a few points as this relates to Jussie Smollett
3/ Smollett's story directly accused Trump supporters which I believe led to scrutiny of the story. It directly conflicted with a political faction and a sub category of that faction directly.

I am 34. I have been fighting to get my children returned back from Child and Family Services in Winnipeg for 10 years.
We stayed eating salt and vinegar packages. That is all we found in the room. And water.
