Johnson sounds rattled and desperate. Describes the bill sponsored by senior Tories as ‘Jeremy Corbyn’s surrender bill’. The only things the opposition are surrendering to are the principles of parliamentary democracy and maintaining people’s livelihoods.
Corbyn doing a good job. ‘This government is hiding from scrutiny. Not just a gov of chaos but a gov of cowardice’.

Johnson sounds like he’s debating at the Oxford Union. Corbyn sounds like he’s speaking to ordinary people at home. Wonder if Tories have underestimated him?
Corbyn upbraids Johnson for using word ‘surrender’. Points out the apparently surprising fact we’re not actually at war with Europe, and that no-deal would be the real surrender. Hilarious that the people shutting down parliamentary sovereignty describe this guy as the radical.
Johnson bumbling in his reply. All he can do is call Corbyn a Eurosceptic Bennite. So what? While Johnson was foreign secretary he told the EU he supported free movement. Perhaps the better question is to ask why Johnson now wants to push through food and medicine shortages?
Johnson’s line of attack is farcical. The fact a confirmed Bennite Eurosceptic is prepared to fight for Remain is in fact a strength rather than a weakness. If Johnson can change his mind, so can Corbyn - and so can the British people.
Anyway Ken Clarke delivers the coup de grace. Dismisses Johnson’s ‘knockabout’ performance and correctly identifies that the PM is dragging us to the cliff-edge. Johnson bumbles and yammers even more than usual in his response and offers nothing. He is defeated and he knows it.
Johnson’s really lost it now. If he wasn’t such a uniquely hubristic sociopathic ego made flesh you might almost feel embarrassed for him.
Hammond skewers Johnson and loves every minute. Asks Johnson to publish his new backstop plans. Johnson ignores him and babbles something incomprehensible about Merkel. It turns out revenge is a dish best served in public humiliation.
