-most of these were imported from loango or mimicked loango styles different cloths were fashioned for different classes, those reserved for the elite were't for sale and were highly ornamented and well
designed the rest were sold and the used as currency (so valuable that soldiers employed by the portuguese at the port could only accept payment in these)
the diamond patterns were derived from earlier pottery designs; in"The kingdom of Kongo : from majesty to revolt" from
"a fistful of shells", T. Green describes how the cowrie and loango's libongo cloth lost value in kongo as the portuguese brought shiploads of the shells from brazil debasing the local nzimbu shells and the libongo imports from loago in the 17th century

On 12 October, 2018, Atiku Abubakar, picked Peter Obi, to be his running mate in the 2019 general elections.

Exactly a week after Peter Obi was picked, the infamous separatist, Nnamdi Kanu, resurfaced, having been missing for over a year up to that point.
Not long after, Kanu returned to his mic, to resume what made him infamous in the first place - spilling a lot of bile.

His most recent exercise was to schedule a "referendum on Biafra" same day as the Presidential Elections, and that, is where the cat waltzed out of the bag.

#Nigeria''s @MBuhari has begun moves to officially extend the tenure of Ibrahim Idris as Inspector-General of @PoliceNG. Under Service Rules, Idris shd have retired on the 35th anniv of his enlistment, 3 Jan but has continued to run the police regardless.

s. 215(1)(a) of #Nigeria's constitution says: an Inspector-General of @PoliceNG shall be appointed by the President on advice of the Police Council from among serving members of the NPF.

IGP Idris can't be lawfully extended cos he's no longer serving & Police Council hasn't met.
s. 216(2) of the Constitution is v clear: "Before making any appointment to the office of the Inspector-General of @PoliceNG or removing him from office the President shall consult the Nigeria Police Council." A meeting of the Police Council is mandatory pre-condition.

2007: Maj Gen Joseph Ayango #Aondo (rtd) was #killed in the federal capital, #Abuja, 14 June 2007. He had been chairman of the political campaign group, #Yar'Adua Associates, was seized at the entrance to his house, driven 5km on the Kubwa expressway, then shot dead in his car.

Yesterday, asides @AlJazeera_World, other news outlets, including the Twitter only news outlet, @spectatorindex said that #Nigeria's ambassador had attended the opening of the American Embassy in #Jerusalem.
Isreali outlets such at @TimesofIsrael and @HamodiaIL also ran with the news. @haaretzcom actually went so far as to publish an infograph that included #Nigeria's name as one of the country's "celebrating with them" on the grand new opening...
