This is an existential crisis. People are still dying of injuries sustained during the storm or of medical emergencies now. The current death toll of 30 is likely 10x that.

In Abaco, there is the “stench of death.” The landmass is decimated. There is some lawlessness and looting—which is less an indictment on the character of our people and more a result of this state of war with nature.

We need your help—now and a lot of it. Ordinary citizens and our friends are doing right with your contributions. Support our efforts. We need everything and we need it now.

We need the government to universally lift duty and VAT on all food, water and other essential items into the Abacos and Grand Bahama. No conversation or process needed.

We need NEMA to do its job. We don’t need bureaucratic BS. We need relief now.

The professionalism of this emerging generation of Bahamian media was and is first class. It is their job to tell this story. Political leaders who don’t respect them, do not respect us.
