Before we head off into the weekend, let’s remind ourselves of some of this week’s highlights. There have been a few.

MONDAY: Johnson addressed the nation and said no circumstances he’d ever extend A50. He must thus either resign or become a criminal - an actual coup. 1/ ~JL

TUES: Johnson amazed when opposition & rebels got act together and voted to take control of Commons. Lost his majority literally while he was addressing House. On 80th anniversary of WW2, called bill to stop medicine shortages ‘surrender’ to EU as though that war never ended. ~JL

WEDS: Purged 21 senior Tories, inc 2 ex-chancellors & good friends for daring to defy him. Died on feet in first PMQs, was denounced to his face by colleagues & justified his racism as ‘liberal’. Lost his 2nd vote. Called election he said he didn’t want. Then lost that vote. ~JL

THURS: Own brother resigned because he couldn’t trust him to serve national interest. Got denounced in street by various members of public. Used police as political props. Had an out-of-body experience while addressing them. Ignored one who fainted while standing behind him. ~JL

FRI: Claimed we could have one-sided trade deal with US to our advantage. Saw bill he did everything to stop being passed by Lords. Was fully outmanoeuvred by opponents who’ll force him either to resign or extend Brexit & smash his remaining credibility. 5 days. Classic Dom. ~JL

So, the most atrocious debut by any PM in modern British history. This is what happens when people who’ve winged it through life are finally tested. When those assuming they’re born to rule discover humour & bluster aren’t enough. When hubris & narcissism collide with reality ~JL
