@Shylum_ I think it's a terrible mistake to interpret the Gospel as a kind of morality play of should & shouldn't & that to be Christian we must TRY to be "good Christians" That's a set up for the work of the cross to be undone in a person's life, either in rebellion, or pride or dullness
@Shylum_ I believe that the power of the gospel empowers us to REALLY laugh, & , at times, really cry, then have the tears wiped away in a smile, as they may turn into tears of hilarity, even of joy & sorrow, both, at the same time!
It's a good crazy, to be one who really gets it, imho.
@Shylum_ And once something is known, is "grokked" (a term borrowed from "A Stranger in a Strange Land" meaning to get an idea so fully, it's like eating or drinking it, & ingesting it, integrating it into one's being), then how could you lose it? would you try to out-sin the cross? Why?!
@Shylum_ I said earlier that I consider myself a born again & again & again Christian, but the first time I cried & then exclaimed "my God, you were with me all along, how did you KNOW?!" there was no going back. I weep over God's love for me, & His Grace scares me in a way. Courage!
@Shylum_ Then again, there's no amount of Christ that's capable of ruining a personality! So we discover, when we get present to the fear, that God is actually quite charming, even humorous & playful, with a loving kindness, so we become humorous & creative & playful. Fear becomes mirth.
@Shylum_ @threadreaderapp "unroll" please & thank you good bot.
