#Civility: Consciously motivated individual & organizational behavior, that is ethical, in willing submission to a higher power (or an imagined perfect observer, for those who do not believe or are agnostic).
Civility requires discipline, of which there r 4 tools
1) Delay of ...
gratification.
2) Acceptance of responsibility.
3) Dedication to truth
4) Balancing
This might include the appropriate expression of anger (not faux outrage) where it may be said that a perfect gentleman is someone who never hurts another person's feelings, unintentionally.
#Love
The will to use the four tools of discipline, including the awareness of balancing & the work involved in communication, is Love, where love may be defined, among other mysterious & biological aspects as - the will, to give of one's self, for the sake of another's..
..another's spiritual growth & well being, where the words spiritual & psychological may be interchangable or form a spectrum of sorts.
This is the key to mental health & well being, at all levels, this continuous process of self-other reflection & even admonishment, when needed
However, without this frame or table if you will, however risky or dangerous it might be to approach, there is in truth, nowhere else to turn, while the invitation itself remains, ever compelling us to consider & re-consider it's fundamental proposition...
In light of the alternative, which would involve a complete breakdown in Civility, we are called to the same servant leadership that motivated & inspired Jesus, even & especially towards our "enemy" & the unlovable among us. This is very challenging, but it's the only way.
Lest we too become bitter & forever outraged, & lose the very thing that makes life worth living. So it's like a kind of wrestling match over our individual & collective sanity - "into the breach once more dear friends!" We can do this! #WeThePeople. #TheGreatAwakening. #Winning.
